National Assembly delegation meets with voters in Nghi Loc district.

On the afternoon of July 2nd, in Nghi Kieu commune (Nghi Loc district), National Assembly delegates from Nghe An province, including Ms. Nguyen Van Chi - Vice Chair of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee, and Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, held a meeting with voters from Nghi Kieu and Nghi Van communes.

Also participating in the meeting with voters were Provincial People's Council representative Hoang Lan - Deputy Head of the Economic and Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council; and leaders of provincial and Nghi Loc district departments and agencies.

Announcement of the results of the 7th session of the 15th National Assembly

At the conference, National Assembly delegate Nguyen Van Chi announced the results of the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly, which concluded on the morning of June 29, 2024. During this session, in addition to personnel matters within its authority, the National Assembly passed 11 laws and 21 resolutions.

These include provisions that affect the vast majority of the population, such as salary reform, adjustments to pensions, social insurance benefits, preferential allowances for meritorious individuals, and social allowances from July 1, 2024; and the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, which relates to handling violations related to alcohol levels while driving.

In particular, at this session, the National Assembly passed a Resolution on piloting the addition of some specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Nghe An province, creating a basis and conditions for Nghe An to continue to leverage all its potential and advantages, promote rapid and sustainable development, and become a relatively developed province in the country.

Provincial People's Council delegate Hoang Lan - Deputy Head of the Economic and Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council - reported on the socio-economic situation of the province in the first six months of the year, the tasks and solutions for the last six months of 2024; and announced the expected program and content of the mid-year regular session of the Provincial People's Council in 2024, scheduled to open on July 10, 2024.

Twelve voters raised 35 issues.

Furthermore, in a spirit of democracy, frankness, and responsibility, while highly appreciating the recent innovations in the activities of the National Assembly and the Provincial People's Council towards being closer to the people and better caring for their lives, 12 voters raised and proposed 35 issues, belonging to 7 groups of problems related to the issuance of land use right certificates, compensation for land clearance, salary policies, and policies for people with meritorious services…

Expressing enthusiasm for the salary reform and adjustment of pensions and social benefits recently approved by the National Assembly, voter Nguyen The Sy (Hamlet 2, Nghi Kieu Commune) also raised concerns that while the salary and social benefit reforms aim to improve the lives of pensioners, the prices of some consumer goods have increased, and even the health insurance contributions for people with average incomes have risen compared to before.

Therefore, voters suggest that the National Assembly should study how to work with the State and Government to strictly control prices, avoiding the situation of "taking advantage of the situation".

Voter Nguyen Thi Bao (Hamlet 1, Nghi Kieu Commune) reflected on the regulation setting the retirement age for women at 60, arguing that it is inappropriate for preschool teachers; she requested that the National Assembly study and adjust it. In addition, Ms. Bao proposed that the National Assembly adopt a policy allowing preschool cooks to receive salaries from the state budget, instead of relying on the current "socialized" system of "parents supporting" them.

The issue that many voters in Nghi Van and Nghi Kieu communes are concerned about and have petitioned for relates to the backlog of land use right certificates in the locality.

Voter Dang Minh Hue (Hamlet 21, Nghi Van Commune) reported that 9 households who exchanged land for the construction of the Lim Dam water reservoir have not yet received land use right certificates after 23 years, affecting the rights of the people.

Along with the issues mentioned above, voters also raised concerns about the shortage of teachers; the inadequacies of allowing students to freely take entrance exams for grade 10 in various localities; concerns about irrigation work to meet the production needs of the people; and compensation policies for land clearance related to the 500kV power line…

Following suggestions and feedback from voters, leaders of several provincial and district-level departments and agencies in Nghi Loc have acknowledged and addressed some issues within their jurisdiction.

On behalf of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, National Assembly representative Vo Thi Minh Sinh received and addressed several issues within the National Assembly's jurisdiction.

Regarding the voters' suggestion to lower the retirement age for preschool teachers, Representative Vo Thi Minh Sinh informed that the Ministry of Education and Training is currently developing a draft Law on Education, which includes a retirement age of 55 for teachers; and expressed the hope that voters will continue to pay attention and provide feedback during the consultation process to finalize this draft law to better reflect reality.

National Assembly representative Vo Thi Minh Sinh also explained the content of forest carbon credits and the Party's regulations on handling violations by officials and Party members; at the same time, she requested the departments, agencies and Nghi Loc district to find solutions to address the suggestions and feedback of voters, ensuring the legitimate rights of the people.
