Beautiful waterfall in Quang Tri attracts visitors to 'heal' and eat strange and delicious specialties

Located about 120km from Dong Ha city center, Ta Puong waterfall (in Trang Ta Puong village, Huong Viet commune, Huong Hoa district) is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Quang Tri province, especially in the summer.

This place has a wild, green landscape with many "cooling" activities, giving visitors the feeling of being "healed" and immersed in nature.

According to the National Tourism Administration's electronic information portal, Ta Puong waterfall is a scenic cluster consisting of 1 cave and 2 waterfalls, located in the west of Quang Tri province.

Ta Puong Cave is located high up, about 200m deep into the mountain with a width of about 10m. Inside the cave is quite dark and damp, with a capacity of about 200 people. The cave is divided into 2 parts: Stream and sandbank, impressing visitors with its beautiful stalactite system.

Located about 1.5km downstream from Ta Puong cave is Ta Puong 1 waterfall, about 20m high, flowing from halfway up the mountain down through vertical cliffs.

Dưới chân thác có nhiều tảng đá lớn hình dạng độc đáo, được du khách lựa chọn làm nơi dừng chân nghỉ ngơi, tổ chức tiệc dã ngoại và thưởng lãm cảnh quan thiên nhiên.

Cách thác Tà Puồng 1 về hạ lưu khoảng 1,5km là thác Tà Puồng 2. Dưới chân thác là hồ nước rộng chừng 5.000m2, nước xanh trong vắt, có thể nhìn thấy đáy. Đây cũng là khu vực được nhiều du khách yêu thích, tìm tới bơi lội, vui chơi, chèo SUP...

Chia sẻ với PV VietNamNet, anh Hoài An (Trung tâm Xúc tiến Đầu tư, Thương mại và Du lịch tỉnh Quảng Trị) cho biết, tổ mô hình quản lý du lịch cộng đồng thôn Trăng Tà Puồng đang khai thác du lịch, tổ chức đón khách tại thác Tà Puồng.

Tới đây, ngoài thưởng ngoạn cảnh đẹp và bơi lội, du khách có thể tham gia một số hoạt động rèn thể lực như chèo SUP, chèo thuyền tre, trekking, leo núi… hoặc tham quan động Tà Puồng cách đó không quá xa.

Theo anh Hoài An, không chỉ có động Tà Puồng và hai thác nước, khu vực này còn nhiều điểm đến đẹp và hoang sơ khác như: đèo Sa Mù, động Brai, nhà đày Lao Bảo, sân bay Tà Cơn...

Nếu có dịp đến thác Tà Puồng, du khách đừng bỏ lỡ cơ hội thưởng thức đặc sản bản địa với nhiều món ngon như măng rừng, mẹt gà lên mâm… do chính đồng bào ở đây chế biến.

To reach Ta Puong waterfall, from Dong Ha city, visitors travel along National Highway 9 (East-West economic corridor) about 60km to Khe Sanh town (Huong Hoa district) then turn onto Ho Chi Minh road, continue about 50km more to the center of Huong Viet commune.

From here, visitors travel a few more kilometers to Trang Ta Puong village and continue about 800m to reach the waterfall.

Many tourists have been here, although the distance is quite far, the beautiful scenery along both sides of the road dispels all fatigue, with the peaceful stilt houses of the Pa Co and Van Kieu people or the primeval forest.

“When coming here, visitors should be careful not to litter, clean up before leaving and wear a life jacket when swimming. The distance from the parking lot to the waterfall is quite far, so visitors should also ensure stable health, equip themselves with good grip shoes,…”, said Mr. An.

To ensure security and order and attract tourists to Ta Puong waterfall, the People's Committee of Huong Viet commune has mobilized the police and militia to regularly patrol to ensure security and order; propagated to tourists to put garbage in the right place, not to light fires to prevent fires and explosions; at the same time, mobilized households in Trang Ta Puong village to actively help and support tourists in showing them the way to the waterfall.

In addition, the tourism exploitation unit at Ta Puong waterfall also always has people on duty at the lake below the waterfall, giving life jackets to tourists, and rescuing when an incident occurs./.
