Connecting love - Supporting the sick

Vinh City General Hospital, with its mission of caring for and protecting people’s health, receives more than 3,000 outpatient visits and 800 inpatient treatments every day. Among them, there are many difficult circumstances, unfortunate lives that need love and sharing from the community; to give them more strength to overcome their illnesses.

Therefore, the hospital's motto is that in addition to focusing on investing in developing new science and technology and applying effective treatment methods to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, social security work is always given attention.

Each staff member of the hospital understands that by contributing a small part of themselves, they not only encourage the spirit but also create conditions to help patients receive treatment; add strength and faith to help them overcome difficulties and illnesses. Many touching stories have been written, thanks to the support of the hospital's Charity Fund, creating miracles in real life.

As in the case of patient MVK in Ky Son, who suffered a femoral neck fracture in an accident, if not promptly surgically intervened, he could be disabled for life. However, the patient's family situation was extremely difficult, his wife and children were in poor health, and Mr. K was the main breadwinner in the family. His family could not afford to pay for expenses other than health insurance. Upon receiving information about the patient, after investigating and verifying the situation, the Social Work Department connected with benefactors to support the treatment and arising costs and allocated funds to support daily meals for the patient and his family. In addition, with the appeal and dedicated care of the doctors and nurses at the Department of Trauma and Neurosurgery, Mr. K was promptly treated, overcame difficulties and illnesses, and returned to take care of his family.

Bridge of "golden hearts"

To write the journey of sharing love of the hospital's medical staff for patients, we cannot fail to mention the companionship of many kind hearts of units, organizations, businesses, and benefactors over the years.

The Fund to Support Poor Patients was established in 2019 and has raised more than 500 million VND to date. Over the years, the amount donated to the Fund has been used effectively and for the right purposes by the Hospital's Social Work Department, supporting thousands of nutritious meals, supporting hospital fees, ambulance transport, giving gifts, supporting hospital fees... for thousands of poor patients in difficult circumstances during their treatment at the Hospital.

"Love in Harmony" is a new program, continuing the journey of connection and sharing, as a spiritual gift from the Hospital to patients and their families. The program promises to bring special artistic performances with the participation of famous artists such as: People's Artist Hong Luu, Meritorious Artist Que Thuong, Nam Giang... and doctors and nurses of the Hospital.
