According to RIA Novosti on July 10, US President Joe Biden said that the US and its allies will provide Ukraine with five strategic air defense systems and dozens of tactical air defense systems in the coming months.

“The United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, and Italy will provide Ukraine with five additional strategic air defense systems in the coming months, and the United States and our partners will provide Ukraine with dozens of additional tactical air defense systems,” President Biden said at the official opening ceremony of the NATO Summit in Washington on July 9 (Washington time).

The US president added that Ukraine will also receive hundreds of interceptor missiles for its air defense system from the West by 2025.

Mr. Biden emphasized that the US will make Ukraine a priority destination for supplying air defense systems, so that Kiev will receive them sooner than any other ally of Washington.

With the full support of the alliance, Mr. Biden expressed confidence that Russia “can and will be deterred.” According to the US leader, Russia is “losing” the conflict in Ukraine.

“Let no one doubt: Ukraine can and will stop President Putin, especially with our full and collective support,” President Biden said.

The US leader expressed confidence that Russia, after winning the special military campaign, “will not stop in Ukraine”, but will create a threat to Europe.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed confidence that the alliance cannot allow Russia to win the conflict in Ukraine, as this would become the biggest threat to unity.

“The biggest threat would be a Russian victory in Ukraine. We cannot allow that to happen,” NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg said.

According to NATO Secretary General, the Ukraine conflict has been the main security threat in recent decades and Russia's victory would be an incentive for other NATO rivals, including Iran, North Korea and China.
