Opening of a class teaching Vi and Giam folk songs in the community in Thanh Chuong
On July 10, in Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An province's Traditional Arts Center opened a class to teach folk singing talent in the community with the participation of 35 students from primary and secondary schools in the area.
Attending the opening ceremony were Ms. Quach Thi Cuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports; representatives of the Department of Education and Training, the Center for Culture - Sports and Communication of Thanh Chuong district; artists, artisans and students.

In 2024, the Provincial Traditional Arts Center organized two sessions of teaching Vi and Giam folk songs to talented students in Vinh city, Hung Nguyen district and Thanh Chuong district.
The Vi and Giam folk singing class in Thanh Chuong district took place over 12 days, from July 8 to 19, with the participation of 35 students with outstanding talents, selected from hundreds of students who had registered at primary and secondary schools in the area.

In this class, students will be introduced by artists of Nghe An Province Traditional Arts Center about the characteristics, properties, and guided in practicing folk melodies of Vi, Giam, Nghe Tinh folk songs, and adapted melodies (Vi Do Dua, Vi Phuong Vai, Vi Leo Non, Giam Ve, Giam Noi, Giam Ru, Giam Cua Quyen, Ho Di Duong, Ho Vo Thuyen, Dieu Tu Hoa)...

Through the class, the aim is to find and discover students with musical talent, good voice, and love for traditional arts to be trained in skills, orient their careers, create a source of future and long-term actors for professional art units. At the same time, build an artistic nucleus for the local folk song singing movement.

With the enthusiastic and dedicated teaching of experienced artists, the class will be a useful playground, lighting up the love, passion and pride of students for the cultural heritage of folk songs of Nghe An.
