7 Nghe An players continue to be on the shortlist of U19 Vietnam
Coach Hua Hien Vinh has shortened the list of the Vietnam U19 team to 26 players. Notably, 7 players from Nghe An are still on this list.
After the practice match with the U21 Avenir Club of Korea on the afternoon of July 10, head coach Hua Hien Vinh decided to shorten the list of the Vietnam U19 team to 26 players, before moving to Ho Chi Minh City tomorrow (July 11).
Accordingly, 8 players will not continue to accompany the Vietnam U19 team in this training session, including: Goalkeeper Nguyen Quang Huy, 3 defenders: Nguyen Canh Tai, Dang Thanh Binh, Le Nguyen Hoang, Hoang Minh Hoi; 3 midfielders: Pham Nguyen Quoc Trung, Vi Dinh Thuong and Nguyen Trong Tuan.

Among these, the most regrettable cases are Le Nguyen Hoang and Vi Dinh Thuong who did not recover from their injuries in time to be able to participate in the 2024 Southeast Asian U19 Championship. Previously, another absence was striker Nguyen Dang Duong who could not join the team due to injury.
In the list of 26 players moving to Ho Chi Minh City, there are 7 players from Nghe An including: Goalkeeper Cao Van Binh, Nguyen Bao Ngoc; defender Nguyen Mai Hoang; midfielder Nguyen Quang Vinh, Le Dinh Long Vu, Ho Huu Hung, and striker Phung Van Nam.

In an interview after the practice match this afternoon, coach Hua Hien Vinh said: “In this training session, U19 Vietnam has gathered the best players from the 2005-2007 generation. During the past week, we tried to create cohesion for the whole team, forcing the players into the playing style that the coaching staff is aiming for.
In today's practice match, the new players have not yet reached their best form and playing condition, so they have not yet fulfilled the coaching staff's requirements for playing style. However, I believe that in a few days, the whole team will be able to play more smoothly."

Tomorrow (July 11), the U19 Vietnam team will move to Ho Chi Minh City to continue training, both to get used to weather conditions similar to Indonesia and to reduce the hardship of the journey by only flying 2 legs to Surabaya instead of having to fly 3 legs if departing from Hanoi.
Before leaving for Indonesia to attend the 2024 Southeast Asian U19 Championship, coach Hua Hien Vinh will finalize the list of the Vietnam U19 team down to 23 players./.
