In the first 6 months of the year, the entire Inspection sector discovered more than 90,000 billion VND in economic violations.
On July 11, in Hanoi, the Government Inspectorate held an online conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2024.
The conference was chaired by comrade Doan Hong Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Government Inspector General.
The Government Inspectorate's report stated that in the first 6 months of 2024, the entire sector carried out 3,910 administrative inspections and 58,025 specialized inspections and checks.
Through inspection, economic violations of VND 92,783.1 billion and 292.5 hectares of land were discovered; of which it was recommended to recover VND 59,431.6 billion and 24.9 hectares of land; to deduct and exclude from the settlement value due to non-compliance with regulations and to request competent authorities to consider and handle VND 33,351.5 billion and 252.5 hectares of land.
The sector issued 49,982 decisions to sanction administrative violations of organizations and individuals with a total fine of VND 2,089 billion; recommended consideration and administrative handling of 856 groups and 3,862 individuals; transferred 94 cases and 73 subjects to the investigation agency for further consideration and handling.
In the first 6 months of 2024, there were 163,301 people coming to state administrative agencies to make complaints, denunciations, recommendations, and reflections (down 12.8% compared to the same period in 2023), with a total of 182,385 people received (down 10.9%) in 143,560 cases (down 5.7%), with 1,378 large groups (down 23.7%)...

In Nghe An, in the first 6 months of the year, the Inspectorate has conducted 183 administrative inspections, of which 47 were transferred from the previous period; 136 were newly conducted. Including 176 planned inspections and 7 unscheduled inspections.
The Inspectorate also issued conclusions from 99 inspections at 203 units, discovering violations of more than VND32 billion and 1,915,010m2 of land. It recommended administrative sanctions against 46 organizations and 152 individuals with violations, and transferred 1 case to the investigation agency.

In the first 6 months of 2024, investigation agencies at all levels of Nghe An province24 cases, 113 defendants have been investigated; 21 cases, 128 defendants related to corruption have been prosecuted. The damage caused by corruption crimes is more than 20 billion VND, currently more than 16 billion VND has been recovered...
At the online conference on the morning of July 11, a number of localities and units proposed the need to strictly control the declaration and verification of assets and income to prevent and combat corruption.
Some opinions say that self-inspection and detection of corruption within agencies, organizations and units are still limited, very few cases are detected through internal self-inspection; some inspections are slow to implement or slow to issue conclusions compared to plans and requirements, the rate of money and asset recovery through urging and handling after inspection is still not high...
