Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations presents gifts to war invalids, sick soldiers and martyrs' families in Nghe An province

The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations presented 50 gifts to 30 war invalids in Hung Nguyen district and 20 war invalids in Vinh city; presented 2 gratitude houses to 2 families of martyrs' relatives.in Con Cuong district with a total value of 190 million VND.

Towards the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024) and the 94th anniversary of Nghe Tinh Soviet (1930 - 2024), on the afternoon of July 13, at Nghe Tinh Soviet Square, Hung Nguyen town (Hung Nguyen district), the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) in coordination with Nghe An province organized a gift-giving ceremony and handover of gratitude houses to wounded and sick soldiers and families of martyrs.

Attending the program on behalf of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) were Mr. Phan Anh Son - Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hung - Member of the Party Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and representatives of leaders of departments, units, trade unions, and youth unions of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Nghe An province; Ho Thi Chau Loan - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of the province; and leaders of Hung Nguyen and Con Cuong districts.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hung - Member of the Party Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations emphasized that the work of "repaying gratitude" is both a responsibility and a sacred and noble gesture of the Vietnamese people to show gratitude to the heroic martyrs and those who have devoted and sacrificed part of their blood to gain independence and freedom for the Fatherland.

With that noble purpose and meaning, every year, officers and employees of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations regularly mobilize sponsorship and organize activities to honor policy families across the country.

At this program, from the funding mobilized by the Center For Tropical Medicine (Oxford University Clinical Research Unit - Vietnam), the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations presented 50 gifts (each worth 1 million VND) to 30 war invalids in Hung Nguyen district and 20 war invalids in Vinh city; presented 2 gratitude houses to 2 families of martyrs in Con Cuong district with a total value of 190 million VND.

Expressing deep gratitude for the affection and care that the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations has given to Nghe An province, especially for war invalids, sick soldiers and families of martyrs, comrade Ho Thi Chau Loan - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An province affirmed that the gifts given are a source of timely support and encouragement, sharing the losses of war invalids, sick soldiers and families of martyrs.

Nghe An province will also organize many meaningful activities to commemorate and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs, the nation's outstanding children who bravely fought and heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland./.
