Playing with one less player, U17 Song Lam Nghe An regretfully lost in the quarter-finals of the National U17 tournament.

Despite taking the lead, playing with one less player due to a player receiving a second yellow card, U17 Song Lam Nghe An regrettably lost to U17 Hanoi.

On the afternoon of July 19, U17 Song Lam Nghe An faced U17 Hanoi in the quarter-finals of the 2024 National U17 Championship. After getting through a narrow gap in the match against U17 Dong Thap in the previous round, the U17 Song Nghe An players entered the quarter-finals with great determination.

In the first minutes of the match, coach Phan Tien Hoai's students played confidently, controlled the home field well, and waited for the opportunity to counterattack.

It was that tactic that helped the Nghe An team gain an advantage and quickly realized it with a goal in the 11th minute. After a quick counter-attack, player Phan Van Tai escaped and seized the opportunity to open the score for U17 Song Lam Nghe An.

After conceding a goal, the Hanoi U17 players pressed forward to attack, and continuously created many dangerous opportunities in front of goalkeeper Tran Phuc Quyet's goal.

Meanwhile, the U17 Song Lam Nghe An players organized a tight defense and waited for the opportunity to counterattack. Coach Phan Tien Hoai's students were also not afraid of collisions, fiercely competing in the midfield area, and were ready to commit fouls when necessary.

Although U17 Hanoi controlled the ball more, Song Lam Nghe players had sharp counterattacks. In the 40th minute, U17 Song Lam Nghe An was awarded a free kick outside the penalty area, Nhat Sang kicked the ball over the wall, the ball went into the dangerous corner, the Hanoi goalkeeper stood helplessly watching, however the ball hit the post and flew out in regret. The first half ended with a score of 1-0.

In the second half, U17 Hanoi continued to attack, forcing the defense of U17 Song Lam Nghe An to play fiercely to stop them. In the 52nd minute, after a collision, captain Tan Dung of U17 Song Nghe An received a second yellow card and had to leave the field. Playing with one less player, U17 Song Lam Nghe An struggled to defend against the attacks of U17 Hanoi. Storms were constantly created, however, the Nghe An team still stood firm thanks to the good cover of the players.

After many attempts to attack, in the 61st minute, U17 Hanoi equalized. From a chaotic situation in front of the U17 Song Lam Nghe An goal, Thien Phu of U17 Hanoi seized the opportunity to bring the match back to a balance.

In the following minutes, the ball almost only rolled on the field of U17 Song Lam Nghe An. U17 Ha Noi created a lot of pressure but luck was not on their side, even though their shots hit the crossbar and the post twice.

Finally, the efforts of U17 Hanoi were rewarded. In the 90th minute, Viet Long turned around and then shot a beautiful left-footed shot into the A corner, setting the score at 2-1 for U17 Hanoi. In the end, U17 Hanoi won a ticket to the semi-finals./.
