The Road Administration Department surveys and finds solutions to overcome subsidence on National Highway 16.
Professional agencies are surveying and proposing two solutions to fix the subsidence problem on National Highway 16.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son - Head of Que Phong Traffic Management Department said that the subsidence situation on National Highway 16, the section passing through Doc Chuoi, Chau Kim commune is getting worse. From yesterday to this morning (July 20), the subsidence depth has dropped to 3.9 meters, and the landslides and rockslides in some sections below the subsidence point are also more complicated.

On the morning of July 20, speaking to reporters, Mr. Hoang Quoc Truong - Director of the Road Project Management Board (Department of Transport) said that the subsidence area at Km264+700 on National Highway 16 is getting more and more serious, if there is heavy rain, the entire long stretch of road will be washed away.
The Department of Road Management and experts from the University of Transport are surveying and researching solutions. The two proposed solutions are to build a viaduct or change the route.

Currently, the People's Committee of Que Phong district continues to strictly enforce the temporary road closure order on this route, while at the same time propagating and mobilizing 4 families living below the subsidence and landslide area to return home.

It is forecasted that in the coming days, due to the influence of low pressure in the East Sea, Nghe An area will have heavy rain.
