The next school year is the third year of the new General Education Program being implemented at the high school level. Unlike the old program, in the new program, students will have compulsory subjects including: Literature; Math; Foreign Language 1; History; Physical Education; National Defense and Security Education; Experiential and Career Guidance Activities; Local Education Content. In addition, students will choose 4 elective subjects from the following subjects: Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Technology, Information Technology, Music, and Fine Arts. Before the school year started, although schools had announced the program implementation plan and 10th grade arrangements, many parents were still hesitant when deciding to register their children. To facilitate parents, on the school year started, schools continued to provide information and discuss students' scores so that parents could have a full picture of their children's abilities and from there orient their subjects. Which block combination will we register for, what profession will we study? One question but certainly there will be many different answers. Before registering for admission, the group of newly admitted students to Nghi Loc 3 High School asked to "consult" close friends from other schools to make the right choice. Photo: My Ha

Searching for more information online such as future career trends, university groups that will recruit, how the competency assessment test will be organized... will help students have more information to support themselves before registering. Photo: My Ha

A 10th grade male student was confused when his teacher asked him about his plans to register for a subject group this school year. This is also the common situation of many other students because they do not have a vision of university entrance exams and future careers. Photo: My Ha

The counseling program is not only useful for students but also helps parents better understand the program their children will study so that they can accompany their children during the 3 years of high school and orient their future careers. Teacher Hoang Thi Chau - a Biology teacher who has been doing career counseling for 10th grade students for 3 years shared: Before advising parents and students, I had to research and update the admission information of schools and the capacity assessment exams of universities. The advantage for students this year is that the Ministry of Education and Training has announced the graduation exam plan, universities have also announced the plans for their own exams, so the school is quite convenient when orienting parents and students. After the general consultation session, Le Hong Phong High School organized separate consultations for each parent and student. Teacher Nguyen Bich Hanh - Principal of the school said: We have announced the optional subjects and topics so that parents and students can base on them to find subjects that suit their interests and abilities. In addition to the first choice, students can also register for the second choice to have more opportunities to choose. Class placement will be based on the student's wishes and the actual basis to suit the school's conditions. Photo: My Ha

Parents Vo Thi An (from Hung Nguyen town) are being advised by school teachers to choose a suitable subject combination so that her daughter can study Mathematics Education after graduating from grade 12. In addition to the subject combination expected to register for the Graduation Exam, school teachers are looking for more information so that parents can consider the subjects and can participate in separate exams of universities.

From this week, the career counseling and guidance program is expected to be organized by all high schools across the province to support parents and students before registering for grade 10. This is also an annual activity of many Nghe An schools since the new General Education Program was implemented at the high school level. Choosing the right subjects and classes right from the first days of grade 10 will also help limit the situation of students asking to change classes and subjects after enrolling and create the best learning mindset for them at high school.
