By the end of 2025, Nghe An industrial parks need over 70,000 workers.
According to the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, from now until the end of 2025, many large-scale foreign direct investment (FDI) production projects will come into operation, so there will be a need to recruit over 70,000 workers.
Specifically, according to the survey results of the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, from now until the end of 2025, enterprises in the Industrial Park and Southeast Economic Zone need over 70,000 workers, of which 29,945 will be needed in the last 6 months of 2024 and 43,445 in 2025.
The above recruitment information is based on the survey results and registration of 73 enterprises in the industrial parks of the Southeast Economic Zone that have been and will be put into operation.
Topping the list of companies in need of the most workers is Luxshare-ICT Nghe An, which will need about 13,200 workers in the last 6 months of 2024 and 20,000 workers in 2025; Merry & Luxshare Company (Vietnam) will need 5,000 workers in the last 6 months of the year and 6,000 workers in 2025; Crypress Shoe Company (Vietnam) will need 2,000 workers in the last 6 months of 2024 and 4,000 workers in 2025.
Next, Andromeda Shoe Company (Vietnam) needs 1,500 workers in the last 6 months of 2024, Runergy Technology Company (Vietnam) needs 1,262 workers in the last 6 months of 2024 and 2,000 workers in 2025, Everwin Precision Company (Vietnam) and Mareep Company each need 1,000 workers in the last 6 months of 2024 and 2,000 more workers in 2025; Ju Teng Electronics Company needs 600 workers in the last 6 months of 2024 and 2,000 more workers in 2025.

Meanwhile, Sangwoo Vietnam Co., Ltd., An Nam Matsuoka Garment Company, Kyungshin Nghe An Company need 1,500 people in the last 6 months of 2024 (each unit needs 500 people), in 2025 each of the above enterprises need 1,000 more people. Next are 15 enterprises operating in the fields of garment, leather shoes and electronics, each unit registered to recruit from 300 - 500 workers.
The representative of the Department of Enterprises and Labor, Southeast Economic Zone Management Board added: not only worrying about the immediate future, according to the survey, in the period from 2025 - 2029, only key FDI projects have registered to employ about 98,701 workers; the workforce is mainly in the fields of electronic component manufacturing and green energy. This is a pressure not only for businesses but also for the province. Currently, with 154 businesses operating in the Southeast Economic Zone, they are employing nearly 40,000 workers.

Statistics from the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board show that in recent years, although businesses have recruited many workers, they have not been able to retain them due to a record increase in the number of people quitting their jobs. In 2023 and the first 6 months of 2024, the number of workers quitting accounted for over 50% of the number of recruited workers. For example, at Luxshare Nghe An Company, in 2023, 7,126 workers were recruited but 3,793 people quit, accounting for 53% of the recruitment; in the first 6 months of 2024, over 9,800 workers were recruited but 7,759 people quit, accounting for 79% of the recruited workers.
The main reason why workers in industrial parks quit their jobs is because the average salary and income that enterprises in Nghe An pay to workers is still low. In 2023 and the first 6 months of the year, although the payment level was 6.63 million VND/month, an increase of 5% compared to 2022; including all items, the total income was only approximately 7 million VND/month, lower than the national average (8.49 million VND/person/month) and other provinces and cities such as Thanh Hoa is 7.848 million VND, Ha Tinh is 7.633 million VND, Ho Chi Minh City is 11.4 million VND and Hanoi is 7.402 million VND/person/month.
