Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy arrived at the scene to direct the handling of arising issues related to the construction of the 500kV power line project.

At noon on July 27, immediately upon receiving information about a dispute related to the delay in payment of funds between contractors in the implementation of the construction contract: Construction of the foundation of the pier from VT17 - VT29 under package 9; construction and installation of the line from VT17 to VT30 of the 500kV Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa line project, comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province went directly to the scene to inspect and direct the handling.

Present at the pole positions: VT17, Quynh Thang commune, Quynh Luu district and VT24, Quynh Trang commune, Hoang Mai town - where some groups of people displayed banners demanding payment from the main contractor of the project, with a high risk of obstructing construction and slowing down the project's progress, the Provincial Party Secretary directly listened to reports from representatives of contractors, construction teams; Central Power Project Management Board; leaders of Party committees and authorities of the two localities on the related contents leading to the above incident.

Working with the parties, the Provincial Party Secretary clearly stated that this is a key project on national energy security, receiving great attention and direction from the Government and the Prime Minister. Up to now, the project is being rushed to the finish line as planned.

The emergence of conflicts between contractors and the current behavior will affect the psychology of engineers and construction workers at the construction site, causing a risk of disorder and insecurity, which can affect the progress of the project.

The Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee requested that relevant parties should prioritize the overall situation and make efforts to promptly and satisfactorily resolve problems so as not to affect the project's progress.

At the same time, it is recommended that contractors and Project Management Boards regularly coordinate and inform Party committees and authorities at all levels to promptly and effectively handle arising issues.

The head of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee requested local Party committees and authorities to closely coordinate, arrange forces and means to be ready to provide maximum support to contractors in the construction of projects; ensure security and order in all aspects, especially grasp information, problems, arising issues, manifestations, and risks affecting the implementation of projects in order to promptly resolve them.

The police force has deployed professional measures to strengthen security and safety during the construction of projects under its management, especially in preventing property theft and acts of incitement and obstruction of construction.

Currently, contractors and relevant parties have reached an agreement to immediately resolve outstanding issues and committed to not affecting the project's progress.
