Many vocational schools in Nghe An soon reached their enrollment targets.
With a large number of junior high school graduates and limited admission capacity of public and non-public high schools, this year, many vocational schools in Nghe An have had more favorable conditions in recruiting students.
In the 2024-2025 school year, according to the plan, Yen Thanh Technical Secondary School will enroll 290 students. However, according to Mr. Tran Thanh Thuan - Principal of the school, up to this point, there have been 370 students registered for admission, including students from Dien Chau district. Many parents have submitted applications for their children to study right after the end of grade 9 instead of waiting for the results of not passing the high school entrance exam to come to the school.

βIn the past 10 years, this year has had the largest number of students registering for school. On the first day of school, July 15, the number of students registering exceeded the school's quota,β Mr. Thuan shared.
At the Bac Nghe An Economic - Technical College (located in Cau Giat town, Quynh Luu district), Mr. Chu Minh Loi - Principal of the school said: "Understanding the increase in the number of students after graduating from junior high school, from the beginning of the year, the school has built a plan to enroll students in the junior high school program with 480 quotas, an increase of 105 quotas compared to the previous school year. Last year, the school had to recruit enough students around the end of September and the beginning of October. However, up to now, after a short period of enrollment, the school has basically received 480 students who have completed the junior high school program and wish to study both culture and vocational training, in line with the school's capacity."

The province currently has 53 vocational education and training establishments, including 9 colleges, 12 intermediate schools, 1 vocational education center, 19 vocational education and continuing education centers and 12 other establishments.
According to Mr. Hoang Sy Tuyen - Head of Vocational Education Department, Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, a good sign is that up to this point, many vocational training institutions in the province have completed early enrollment for junior high school graduates.
In addition to Yen Thanh Technical College, Bac Nghe An Economic - Technical College, the schools: Nghe An Boarding Ethnic College, Western Economic - Technical College, Southwest Economic - Technical College... and vocational colleges with intermediate training such as Vietnam - Korea Technical - Industrial College, Vietnam - Germany Nghe An College, Nghe An Tourism - Trade College... have so far basically completed the enrollment target for junior high school graduates.
It is known that the reason why vocational schools have had more favorable admissions than in previous years is due to the sudden increase in the number of 9th grade students in the 2023-2024 school year. According to statistics, the whole province has 53,829 9th grade students, an increase of 7,249 students compared to the previous school year. Of these, about 6,000 students did not register for the 10th grade entrance exam but registered for vocational schools, went to work or had other options.
On the other hand, schools have also been proactive and determined in recruiting students right from the beginning of the year with specific plans and measures. For example, with Yen Thanh Technical Vocational College, Principal Tran Thanh Thuan said: "The school has sent staff and teachers to 33 secondary schools in the district to introduce the cultural study program combined with vocational training, helping parents and students understand that vocational training under this program is given priority in enrollment, care is taken to ensure training quality, shortens study time and is supported with tuition fees throughout the study process, saving costs to establish a career. Thanks to that, many students later registered to study at the school instead of choosing to apply to high schools in the area."
Since the end of 2022, Circular No. 15/2022/TT-BGDDT has been issued, regulating the amount of high school cultural knowledge and the teaching of high school cultural knowledge in vocational training institutions. Accordingly, vocational school students must study compulsory subjects, including 3 subjects: Math, Literature, History and at least 1 elective subject from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography. The head of the vocational training institution decides to choose subjects suitable for the training industry and profession. This Circular has helped vocational training institutions have a legal corridor and be more proactive in implementing cultural teaching for students who have just graduated from junior high school to participate in vocational training.
