Regulations on alluvial land along rivers and coasts
Mr. Le Dinh Chi, residing in Hoang Mai town, asked: What types of land are included in alluvial land along rivers and coasts? How is the management and use of alluvial land along rivers and coasts regulated in the 2024 Land Law?

Article 191LawLand2024 land regulationsalluvial land along river and seaas follows:
1. Alluvial land along rivers and seas includes river banks, alluvial land, river islands, coastal alluvial land and alluvial land, sea islands.
2. Management and use of alluvial land along rivers and coasts shall be implemented according to the following regulations:
a) Alluvial land along rivers and coasts in districts, towns, cities of provinces and centrally run cities shall be managed by the People's Committee of that district;
b) Alluvial land along rivers and coasts is allocated or leased by the State to economic organizations, individuals, people of Vietnamese origin residing abroad, and economic organizations with foreign investment capital.
3. The State is responsible for planning and land use plans to put alluvial land along rivers and coasts into use.
4. The People's Committee at the district level is responsible for investigating, surveying, monitoring, and evaluating the alluvial land fund along rivers and coastal areas that are regularly deposited or frequently eroded in order to have a plan for exploitation and use. The competent State agency shall consider and decide on land allocation and lease of alluvial land along rivers and coastal areas that are regularly deposited or frequently eroded to those in need.
5. The use of alluvial land along rivers and coasts is based on the principles of nature conservation, biodiversity, environmental protection, prevention of landslides, riverbank and beach erosion, and natural disaster prevention.
