US announces new $125 million aid package for Ukraine
The White House said the US will send a new $125 million aid package to Ukraine, including Stinger missiles and artillery shells.

According to RIA Novosti, White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby said at a press conference on August 9 that the US will transfer a new military assistance package worth $125 million to Ukraine.
“The United States is announcing a new aid package for Ukraine. It will include Stinger missiles, artillery shells and armor-piercing systems,” said John Kirby.
According to the Pentagon's announcement, the new weapons package includes Stinger air defense missiles, ammunition for the HIMARS system and 105 mm and 155 mm guns, Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems, ambulances and small arms ammunition.
In addition, Ukraine will receive equipment and artillery shells to carry out the explosions.
The US Department of Defense said that the total amount of US military assistance to Ukraine during President Joe Biden's presidency has exceeded 56.2 billion USD.
Since Russia began its special military operation on February 24, 2022, Washington has allocated about $55.6 billion to Kiev.
RIA Novosti reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces used Western weapons to attack Russian territory. On August 6, they used for the first time the US long-range ATACMS cluster missile to fire at civilian infrastructure in Lugansk.
Earlier, Vitaly Sarantsev, a representative of the "Kharkov" group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told Spanish journalists that Washington allowed the Ukrainian military to attack with US missiles to Belgorod, but "no further."
