Prosecuted for giving car to unqualified person to drive
On August 17, the Investigation Police Agency of Hai An District Police (Hai Phong City) announced that it had issued a decision to prosecute Do Van Toan (born in 1987, residing in Dong Hai 1 Ward, Hai An District) to investigate the act of handing over a vehicle to an unqualified person to drive, causing a serious traffic accident.
Previously, on January 15, Do Van Toan delivered his motorbike with license plate 16R5-9925, with a cylinder capacity of 135cm3PTB (born in 2006, residing in Dong Hai 1 ward, Hai An district) is not qualified to drive.
When arriving at house number 444 Phu Thuong Doan (Dong Hai 1 ward), the motorbike driven by PTB violated road traffic regulations and collided with Ms. NTH (born in 1968, residing in Phu Thuong Doan street), causing the victim to be seriously injured and died at 10:13 p.m. on the same day, January 15.
Based on collected documents and evidence, on August 16, the Investigation Police Agency of Hai An District Police issued a decision to prosecute Do Van Toan for the crime of "Handing over a vehicle to a person who is not qualified to drive a vehicle on the road" as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 264 of the Penal Code.
The case is currently being investigated and clarified by the Hai An District Police Department in accordance with the law.
