Vietnam welcomes China's participation in the construction of three railway lines.

General Secretary and President To Lam welcomed China's participation in cooperation in the project to build three standard gauge railway lines, as well as cooperation in the Vientiane - Vung Ang railway lines and urban railways in Hanoi.

On the afternoon of August 19, at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse (Beijing), General Secretary and President To Lam met with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang.

Prime Minister Li Qiang expressed his respect and forever remembered the great contributions of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to the relationship between the two Parties and two countries.

Prime Minister Li Cuong believes that the important visit of General Secretary and President To Lam will add strong momentum, promoting the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and the Community of Shared Future to enter a new stage of development, achieving more substantial results. China always considers Vietnam a priority direction in its neighborly diplomacy.

General Secretary and President To Lam said that the visit aims to inherit and continue the high regard that the Party, State, and generations of Vietnamese leaders, including the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, have for the Vietnam-China relationship.

Vietnam always considers developing friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive cooperation with China as a consistent policy, strategic choice, and top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, and diversification.

Vietnam will continue to consolidate and promote the important achievements and common perceptions of the two sides' senior leaders on elevating the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.

General Secretary and President To Lam and Prime Minister Li Cuong reviewed outstanding achievements in bilateral cooperation.

The relationship between the two Parties and two countries has made historic progress, reaching the deepest, most comprehensive and substantial level ever, with many achievements...

The two sides believe that the potential for cooperation is still very large; they agreed to make joint efforts to further promote political and economic trust, effectively build a "Community of Shared Future of Strategic Significance", and bring bilateral relations to a new stage of development in the direction of "6 more".

The two countries need to maintain high-level and all-level contacts, promote exchanges and cooperation through the Party, Government, National Assembly/National People's Congress, Vietnam Fatherland Front/CPPCC, and expand cooperation in key areas such as diplomacy, defense, and security.

Vietnam and China need to promote substantive cooperation to achieve even greater results; strengthen local cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, well organize the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, consolidate a solid social foundation, and create new momentum for the development of Vietnam-China relations...

General Secretary and President To Lam welcomed China's participation in the project to build three standard gauge railway lines connecting Vietnam and China, as well as cooperation in the Vientiane - Vung Ang railway lines and urban railways in Hanoi.

The General Secretary and President proposed that China continue to open its doors to high-quality agricultural products from Vietnam and create conditions for the early establishment of a Vietnamese Consulate General in Chongqing and trade promotion offices.

The Vietnamese leader also suggested that the two countries soon pilot smart border gates; promptly resolve stuck projects; promote research and cooperation in the field of payment in local currencies; and strengthen cooperation in science and technology, innovation, green transformation, digital transformation, and high-tech agriculture.

General Secretary and President To Lam hopes to promote cooperation in education, culture, and tourism, especially promoting tourism recovery as before the Covid-19 pandemic; and effectively implement cooperation in disaster prevention and mitigation, relief, and emergency response.

Prime Minister Li Qiang agreed with and highly appreciated the important opinions of General Secretary and President To Lam. The Chinese Prime Minister said that the two countries need to persist in the win-win cooperation and development arrangement.

China is willing to strengthen railway transport connections between Vietnam and Europe via China, promote feasibility studies for the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway, plan the Dong Dang - Hanoi and Mong Cai - Ha Long - Hai Phong railways; and create favorable conditions for Vietnam to increase exports of high-quality agricultural and aquatic products and seasonal fruits to China.

Prime Minister Li Qiang suggested that the two sides strengthen neighborly and friendly relations, promote people-to-people and youth exchanges, implement livelihood projects and cooperate in vocational education, and promote the role of the Vietnam-China Friendship Palace.

The Chinese premier stressed the need to adhere to genuine multilateralism and open regionalism, and is willing to strengthen cooperation in multilateral forums.

The two sides also exchanged international and regional issues of mutual concern, agreed to jointly control and properly handle disagreements, maintain peace and stability at sea, and strengthen a favorable environment for the development of each country.
