Coach Kim Sang-sik has decided to call up midfielder Phan Văn Đức to the Vietnamese national team after the player's impressive performance in last night's match (August 22nd) for the Hanoi Police team.

Last night, August 22nd, midfielder Phan Văn Đức delivered an impressive performance, scoring the opening goal for Hanoi Police Club in their match against Buriram United in the Southeast Asian Club Championship.

The striker from Nghe An unleashed a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, catching the opposing goalkeeper by surprise and forcing him to pick the ball out of the net, thus helping the police team secure a 2-1 victory against the Thai representative.

Speaking after last night's match, midfielder Phan Van Duc shared: "Seeing my teammates called up to the national team, I feel very sad. I always try my best in training and playing to earn a place back in the national team."

After witnessing Phan Văn Đức's brilliant performance against Buriram United, coach Kim Sang-sik decided to add the player to the Vietnam national team's roster for September 2024.

Earlier, on the afternoon of August 21st, coach Kim Sang-sik announced the list of 26 players who will be part of the Vietnamese national team in preparation for international friendly matches during the FIFA Days in September, against Russia (September 5th) and Thailand (September 10th).

However, after receiving the latest updates from the medical team, coach Kim Sang-sik decided to make a personnel adjustment. Specifically, striker Nguyen Van Toan will miss this training camp due to not recovering from his ankle injury in time.

To ensure the team's strength, coach Kim Sang-sik decided to call up midfielder Phan Van Duc to the Vietnamese national team. This marks Phan Van Duc's first return to the national team in two years. This is understandable, as the player from Nghe An is currently in excellent form and physical condition.

According to the schedule, the Vietnamese national team will reconvene in Hanoi from August 30th. The Vietnamese team will play against Russia on September 5th and Thailand on September 10th. Between these two matches, Russia and Thailand will face each other on September 7th.
