Vietnam U20 team won big against Japanese youth club
In the first practice match during the training camp in Japan, U20 Vietnam won a big victory against Ehime club.
On the afternoon of August 25, the Vietnam U20 team had its first practice match during its training session in Japan to prepare for the 2025 U20 Asia Qualifiers.
The "blue team" of U20 Vietnam in this training session is the youth team of Ehime Club of J.League 2. With the purpose of checking and evaluating the results of training in the past time, coach Hua Hien Vinh created conditions for most of the players to enter the field to compete.
Through this match, he also tested his students' ability to adapt to tactics as well as their flexibility in switching from defense to attack and vice versa.
After 2 rounds, the U20 Vietnam team won the Ehime youth team with a score of 4-0, with goals scored by Hoang Khanh, Thang Long, Huu Tuan and Minh Tam.
According to the plan, the Vietnam U20 team will have two more practice matches, against Imabari FC on August 28 and Matsuyama University Student Team on August 30.
On September 1, the Vietnam U20 team will return home to continue completing the final preparations before competing in the 2025 AFC U20 Championship Qualifiers. During this time, the Vietnam U20 team is expected to have two friendly matches with the Russian U20 team in Hanoi.
The 2025 AFC U20 Championship qualifiers will feature 45 teams, divided into five groups of five and five groups of four. The 10 group winners and five best runners-up will qualify for the finals alongside the host team China.
In this qualifying round, the Vietnam U20 team is in Group A, along with Syria, Bhutan, Guam and Bangladesh. The matches in Group A are hosted by Vietnam and will take place at Lach Tray Stadium, Hai Phong from September 21 to September 29, 2024./.
