Former England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson dies aged 76
On August 26, Mr. Sven-Goran Eriksson, former coach of the England team, passed away at the age of 76 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Coach Kim Sang-sik proposed that the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) appoint Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh as acting head coach of the Vietnam U22 team during the training session to prepare for the CFA Team China 2024 international friendly football tournament in China.
Coach Dinh Hong Vinh has many years of experience in youth training, has achieved many successes in national youth competitions and won two Bronze Medals when leading the U16 and U19 Vietnam teams to participate in the Southeast Asian tournament in 2007 and 2009.

Foreign referees appear at the 2024 National Super Cup match
The 2024 National Super Cup match between Nam Dinh Club - the 2023/2024 V.League champion and Thanh Hoa Club - the 2024 National Cup champion will take place on August 31 at Thien Truong Stadium.
The special feature of the Super Cup match is the presence of foreign referees for the first time. The referee team in charge of the match will be the main referee Muhammad Nazmi Bin Nasaruddin (Malaysian). The two assistants are Mr. Phan Huy Hoang and Truong Duc Chien. The fourth referee is Mr. Hoang Ngoc Ha (current Vietnamese golden whistle).
This match will feature the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology. This is the first time the Super Cup has used the VAR system with 12 cameras to provide more accurate views for the referee and assistant team.
According to the rules, the two teams play for 90 minutes. If the match ends in a draw, the players will enter a penalty shootout to determine the champion. The winning team will receive a prize of 300 million VND and the cup, the runner-up will receive 200 million VND.
If they win, this will be the first time Nam Dinh FC has won this title. Meanwhile, Thanh Hoa has lifted the trophy twice in 2009 and 2023./.
