Nghe An officially issues new regulations on excellent student exams for the 2024-2025 school year
This is one of the new points in the Regulations on selecting excellent students that have just been issued by the Nghe An Department of Education and Training from the 2024-2025 school year.
The 2024-2025 school year is the first year to implement the Provincial and National Excellent Student Competitions according to the 2018 General Education Program. To comply with the new program, the Department of Education and Training has made some amendments and supplements to the excellent student competition for grades 9 and 12 in the two provincial and national excellent student competitions and other excellent student competitions at the grassroots level.
Specifically, according to Decision No. 1602/QD-SGD&DT issued on August 23, 2024, the Department of Education and Training will organize once a year to select teams to compete in national excellent student competitions, select excellent students at the provincial level, and select excellent students at the grassroots level.
In particular, for the national excellent student selection exam, the subjects are as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training. In the 2024-2025 school year, to participate in this exam, high schools with candidates registering to take the exam will submit their applications by September 4, 2024. On September 11 and 12, 2024, the Department of Education and Training will organize the team selection exam with each subject having 2 rounds, the test time for each subject is 180 minutes.
In the Provincial Excellent Student Exam, for 12th graders, high school students will take exams in Math, Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, Economic Education & Law, and Foreign Languages.
Grade 12 Continuing Education at High School level, including subjects: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, Economics & Law Education.
For 9th graders, in the first year of implementing the exam according to the new General Education Program, in addition to traditional subjects such as Math, Literature, English, French, Civic Education, and Information Technology, they will take the Natural Science exam (replacing Physics - Chemistry - Biology) and History - Geography (replacing History and Geography).
According to the instructions of the Department of Education and Training,in Natural ScienceThere will be 3 independent exam contents:
+ Natural Science 1 content: Includes general content of Natural Science and optional content: Topics: Energy, Earth and Sky.
+ Natural Science 2 content: Includes general content of Natural Science and optional content: Topic: Matter and changes of matter.
+ Natural Science 3 content: Includes general content of Natural Science and optional content: Living Things topic.
History and Geographyincludes 2 independent exam contents.
In there:
+ History and Geography 1 content: Includes general History and Geography content and optional content of History.
+ History and Geography 2 content: Includes general content of History and Geography and optional content of Geography.
For the exam to select excellent students at the basic level, the exam subjects are decided by the Head of the exam organizing unit.
According to the regulations of the Department of Education and Training, the exam to select the team to compete in the national excellent student competition has only 1 table.
The provincial excellent student exams have 2 groups, of which, for grade 12: Group B includes high schools in 5 mountainous districts: Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Ky Son, Quy Chau, Que Phong and Quy Hop 3 High School; non-public high schools. Group A includes the remaining schools. For grade 12, continuing education at high school level, there is only 1 group.
For grade 9, Group B includes 5 mountainous districts: Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Ky Son, Quy Chau, Que Phong and Quy Hop Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities. Group A: The remaining districts, cities and towns.
This year, the Provincial Excellent Student Exam will also be held earlier than previous years. Specifically, for grade 9 students, the exam will be held on 2 days (December 10 and 11, 2024), nearly 3 months earlier. For grade 12 students, the exam will be held on 2 days (October 8 and 9, 2024), 3 weeks earlier than previous school years.
The provincial excellent student selection contest is held to encourage and motivate teachers and students to promote their creativity, teach well, and study well; contributing to promoting the improvement and enhancement of the quality of teaching and learning, the quality of management and direction of educational management levels.
At the same time, discover students with aptitude for the subject to create a source of training, realizing the goal of training talents for the homeland and country.
The results of the Excellent Student Exam are not only used to evaluate the quality of teaching at schools but also serve as criteria for students to be directly admitted to universities (for grade 12)./.
