The VFF Disciplinary Committee's decision to discipline, fine, and ban U11 Song Lam Nghe An from competing in the 2024 U11 National Championship for age fraud is something nobody wanted and is deeply regrettable.

But this will be a painful lesson for the Song Lam Nghe An Youth Football Training Center.

Even decades ago, in youth football tournaments at the neighborhood level, there were instances of cheating involving the borrowing of household registration books and birth certificates to legitimize "child" players. However, these cases were often discovered by classmates, leading to early disqualification.

Nowadays, in the age of Industry 4.0, clubs deliberately falsifying age records in youth tournaments is even more taboo. This is because it carries high risks and negatively impacts the reputation of the clubs.

However, some parents still suffer from a deep-seated obsession with achievement. In some way, they manipulate the dates and months to turn their children into "prodigies" at an even younger age.

When clubs recruit players, due to a shortage of personnel to conduct detailed checks, they can only rely on documents provided by parents. This inadvertently leads to age fraud in youth leagues. The U11 Song Lam Nghe An team is a prime example.

Being discovered, having their championship title revoked, and being banned from competing for two years has greatly affected the club's reputation. This is a painful lesson for the Nghe An team to learn from in the years to come.

In this age fraud case, besides the club, the "overage" children are the most disadvantaged and pitiable victims.

Furthermore, parents also need to honestly and seriously reconsider this issue. Because they themselves have contributed to pushing their children into this regrettable situation...

Recently, Mr. Tran Quang Dung - Director of the Song Lam Nghe An Youth Football Training Center - affirmed: "The Song Lam Nghe An Youth Football Training Center is determined to eliminate age fraud so that players can achieve the best professional level when they mature." However, age fraud still occurred with the U11 Song Lam Nghe An team. This is extremely regrettable and a painful lesson for those involved in youth training at Song Lam Nghe An in the future...

On September 9th, the VFF Disciplinary Committee issued disciplinary decisions, imposing fines and bans on the SLNA U11 team for age fraud at the 2024 National U11 Championship.

Specifically, the SLNA U11 team was fined 10 million VND and banned from participating in tournaments organized by the VFF for two years for registering and using players who did not meet the age requirements. In addition, the Disciplinary Committee also revoked the title, trophy, flag, medals, and prize money the team had won at the national tournament on August 7th.

Team leader Tran Quang Dung and head coach Nguyen Quang Tho have also been banned from participating in football tournaments managed and organized by the VFF for a period of 2 years.
