Nghe An Education Department temporarily suspends traditional sports festival, focuses on flood relief
The traditional sports festival of the Education sector has been maintained for many years, attracting the participation of thousands of cadres and teachers across the province. However, this year, the sports festival has been temporarily suspended to share the loss and pain caused by storm No. 3 in the northern provinces.
On September 12, the Education Trade Union issued a document on the temporary suspension of the 10th Traditional Education Sports Festival to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024). According to the plan, the sports festival will be held in mid-October 2024.

The suspension of the sports festival comes amid thestorm no. 3and the storm circulation left heavy damage to people and property for people in the northern provinces, including officials, teachers, employees and students of the education sector.
This action aims to contribute to sharing the pain and loss of the people, cadres, teachers, staff and students in the northern provinces who are suffering from damage, overcoming difficulties and stabilizing their lives soon.

Also during this time, the Education Trade Union requested that its affiliated grassroots trade unions limit inappropriate entertainment activities to save funds to support and share with the people, officials, teachers and students in the northern provinces who are suffering damage caused by storm No. 3.
At the same time, take care of cadres, teachers, workers and students at the unit who are facing difficulties in life, suffering from serious illnesses... to strive to complete the tasks of the 2024-2025 school year.

Previously, responding to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province to support people in the northern provinces affected by storm No. 3, the Education sector also issued a document calling on educational institutions, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the entire sector to promote the tradition of solidarity, mutual love, and mutual support to join hands to share and support cadres, teachers, staff, and students in the provinces affected by storms and floods.
After the launching ceremony held on the morning of September 12, up to this point, the Department's civil servants and employees and representatives of some affiliated units have responded to the call and donated nearly 700 million VND. Of which, Huynh Thuc Khang High School donated 240 million VND, Ha Huy Tap High School donated nearly 100 million VND, and some non-public educational units also donated more than 50 million VND.

This amount will be sent by the Department to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, the Ministry of Education and Training and directly support some localities that suffered heavy damage./.
