Amidst the tears and sorrow of his colleagues, Kasim appeared on the show despite his very weak health. Kasim shared that he was very tired and in pain before the performance, even needing emergency hospitalization. But because of the love of his fellow artists and, above all, the support of the Houston audience, he was determined to persevere and stand strong until the very last moment so as not to disappoint everyone.
The following morning, Kasim could no longer bear it and had to be rushed to the hospital. Before being admitted, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his colleagues and fans who had braved the difficulties to attend the concert.
"When I recover, Kasim will write an article expressing his gratitude to all the artists and fans who have loved and cared for him," he promised.
Behind the dazzling stage lights were the silent tears of his colleagues as they witnessed Kasim enduring unspeakable pain. Despite having to soak up the water from his wounds all night, Kasim stayed, quietly listening to his colleagues perform. He couldn't sing or speak, but his presence on stage and his heartfelt bows of gratitude touched the hearts of hundreds.
Audiences came to the show hoping to see Kasim perform powerful rock songs or heartfelt love songs. However, they didn't get to hear his voice. Kasim's mother, singer Bich Phuong, thanked everyone on behalf of her son. Backstage, she choked up, tears streaming down her face, repeatedly bowing to thank Trizzie Phuong Trinh and unable to hold back her sobs. Kasim had kept his illness a secret from his mother until he could no longer continue.

Kasim's mother, in her grief and anxiety, confided in Trizzie Phuong Trinh: "I gave up my singing career for over forty years, sacrificing my personal happiness to take care of Kasim. Please help me tell Kasim to stop working and focus on his treatment. Without health, there's nothing left. I need Kasim; he's my only child."

When hugging Kasim to comfort him, Trizzie Phuong Trinh couldn't hold back her tears. He no longer had the romantic and strong image that audiences once knew; instead, he looked thin, tired, and exhausted. Nevertheless, he deeply cherishes the love and support from his colleagues and fans, which gives him strength. She said that the money donated by artists and benefactors will only help him last for a few more months.
"Kasim shed tears, tears of happiness because of everyone's love. That was also a huge source of encouragement, giving him more strength in his fight against the deadly disease," Trizzie Phuong Trinh wrote.
Kasim Hoang Vu was born in 1980 in Da Nang. His mother is the famous rock singer Bich Phuong. Kasim Hoang Vu participated in the National Television Singing Festival in 1999. Over the years, Kasim Hoang Vu has been living in the United States. There, he continues to perform, run a recording studio, and own a restaurant. In 2018, he revealed that he had gotten married and had a child.
In March 2023, Kasim Hoang Vu revealed he suffered from temporomandibular joint (TMJ) arthritis, which led to surgery for bone cysts in his jaw and neck, resulting in a noticeable change in his appearance. He lost weight, had limited use of his jaw muscles, and ate soft foods.
