Pepper price today September 19, 2024 is in the range of 148,000 - 150,500 VND/kg, today's pepper price has decreased sharply from 4,000 to 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Specifically, Dak Lak pepper price was purchased at 150,500 VND/kg, down 4,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Chu Se pepper price (Gia Lai) was purchased at 148,000 VND/kg, down 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Dak Nong pepper price today was recorded at 150,000 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, pepper prices today decreased sharply in localities compared to yesterday. Specifically, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, it is currently at 148,000 VND/kg, a sharp decrease of 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday; in Binh Phuoc, pepper prices today are at 148,000 VND/kg.

In Xuan Loc district, Dong Nai, joy has spread among the farming community with the increase in pepper prices since the beginning of 2024. The two communes of Suoi Cao and Xuan Tho, famous for the title of "pepper capital", have witnessed the expansion of pepper growing area by 130 hectares, reaching nearly 1,000 hectares.

Local authorities recommend that farmers should not rush to change crops but instead focus on improving and maintaining old areas using sustainable organic farming methods. For new pepper growing areas, farmers are advised to strictly manage diseases and choose high-quality pepper varieties that are suitable for climate and soil conditions.

“Pepper King” Phan Minh Thong, Chairman of Phuc Sinh Group, predicts that 2024 will be a boom year for the pepper industry, with prices expected to increase continuously due to limited supply both domestically and globally.

World pepper price today

Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 7,595 USD/ton (up 0.43%), and the price of Muntok white pepper at 9,161 USD/ton (up 0.44%).

Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper prices were at $7,000/ton (down 4.1%). Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remained stable at $8,800/ton; the country’s ASTA white pepper prices reached $10,900/ton.

Vietnamese black pepper prices today are stable at a high level, trading at 6,800 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 7,100 USD/ton; white pepper prices at 10,150 USD/ton.

According to the latest data from BPS Indonesia, the country's pepper exports by the end of July reached 22,829 tons, with a value of more than 111 million USD. Compared to the previous year, this figure has jumped 55.6% in volume and 59.6% in value.

In the first 7 months of the year, the average selling price of Indonesian pepper exports reached 4,869 USD/ton, up 2.5% over the same period last year. This increase, although slight, is still remarkable compared to the general level of leading pepper producing countries and the international market.

Indonesia mainly exports pepper to major markets such as China, Vietnam, the United States and India. Notably, Vietnam ranks second in the list of countries importing pepper from Indonesia, with a total import volume of 4,492 tons, nearly double that of the previous year and accounting for nearly 20% of Indonesia's total pepper exports. The import price of pepper to Vietnam also increased by 3.6%, reaching 4,430 USD/ton.
