According to RIA Novosti, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that on the morning of September 23, its air force attacked more than 150 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.

Earlier on September 23, the Israeli army called on Lebanese citizens to leave areas where Hezbollah operates, and warned that Israel would soon launch a "large-scale precision strike" against Hezbollah targets across Lebanon.

"We are urging residents of villages in Lebanon to heed and follow the warning messages issued by the Israeli military," an IDF spokesperson said at a press conference on September 23.

In its statement, the IDF also urged residents of villages in Lebanon located in and near buildings and areas used by Hezbollah for military purposes, such as weapons storage, to immediately evacuate the dangerous area for their own safety.

On Hezbollah's side, Deputy Secretary-General Naim Qassem, the second-highest ranking official of the armed group in Lebanon, stated that Hezbollah is waging an "unrestricted war" against Israel, following large-scale attacks on its territory.

Tensions have been escalating rapidly on the border between Israel and Hezbollah forces in Lebanon in recent days. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres fears Lebanon could become a "second Gaza" as Israel and Hezbollah continue fighting.
