In Vietnam, in recent years, with the attention and support of the Party and the State through preferential support policies, businesses have grown and made increasingly important contributions to the growing economy.

However, business operations, especially small and medium enterprises, are still facing difficulties; the scale of capital sources and financial leasing support funds is still too small compared to other sources of support; the ability of businesses to integrate internationally is still weak and it is difficult to access capital.

Through specific figures, BIDV Chief Economist Can Van Luc analyzed the capital structure in small and medium enterprises and the biggest difficulty and obstacle for enterprises is the lack of capital. If there is no effective access channel and if borrowing at high interest rates, enterprises will have difficulty operating and face high risks. Domestic enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises, do not know how to mobilize capital from the stock market. Vietnamese enterprises have not yet accessed the international capital market; have not mobilized and effectively promoted financial mobilization channels, non-bank guarantee funds, etc.

The demand for loans for investment in production and business is increasing, but high interest rates and mortgaged assets are barriers. If small and medium enterprises can access suitable medium and long-term financial leasing channels, it will bring efficiency. Photo: Nguyen Hai

To resolve difficulties related to the Project to support small and medium-sized enterprises, the Prime Minister is directing a comprehensive survey of credit channels to support financial support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and reduce corporate income tax for small and medium-sized enterprises. The Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry is also proposing to the Government solutions to improve the effectiveness of the Law on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises; build and diversify sources and funds to support enterprises; adopt the mechanism of using 1 Law to amend many Laws to remove difficulties for enterprises...
