President Zelensky may change the approach to ending the conflict.
Ukraine's allies believe that President Zelensky could soften the negotiating approach with Russia to end the conflict.

According to RIA Novosti on October 9, Bloomberg, citing anonymous sources close to NATO, reported that Kyiv's allies believe President Volodymyr Zelensky's stance on the conditions for ending the conflict in Ukraine may have softened.
"Ukraine's allies are seeing that President Volodymyr Zelensky may be preparing to take a more flexible approach, seeking to end the conflict with Russia," Bloomberg reported.
Unnamed Ukrainian officials told Bloomberg that they are prepared to recognize the need to “resolve” the conflict, given the approaching winter and weakening Western support.
According to Bloomberg, Ukraine's allies have increased pressure on Kyiv, demanding a more concrete plan to end the conflict. "The stalemate on the battlefield, tight Western budgets, and the outcome of the US presidential election in November are putting pressure on allies to take a closer look at a negotiated solution," Bloomberg reported.
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on October 8 that the Vostok Task Force had seized control of the village of Zolotaya Niva in Donetsk, and that Ukraine had lost up to 115 soldiers in the area.
The situation in Donetsk is becoming increasingly challenging for Ukraine, as they have been continuously losing control of territory to Russia, including strategic areas where Kyiv's forces had held firm for years. This trend demonstrates Russia's overwhelming superiority in both troops and weaponry. Russia is using massive air and flanking fire to encircle the enemy.
According to TASS news agency, military expert Andrey Marochko predicts that Russia is beginning to tighten its grip in Seversk and Donetsk, and 3,000 Ukrainian soldiers risk being surrounded in the near future.
