Vietnam team regretfully draws with India in international friendly match
Creating many opportunities, but the Vietnam team could not win against the Indian team in the international friendly match at Thien Truong stadium (Nam Dinh).
On the evening of October 12, at Thien Truong Stadium (Nam Dinh), the Vietnamese team will face the Indian team, on the occasion of FIFA Days in October 2024.
Compared to the two “blue teams” in September, the opponent this time of the Vietnam Team is considered much more suitable. Coach Kim Sang-sik’s team is even better, being ranked 116th in FIFA, compared to the opponent’s team at 126th.
Coach Manolo Marquez affirmed that the Indian team did not come to Vietnam for tourism, and said that the 23 players are among the best and are fully focused on the goal of winning.

The Spanish strategist also studied the Vietnamese team very carefully, even pointing out which positions each player played in, especially in the attack. The Indian team also arrived in Nam Dinh quite early to get used to the weather and the pitch. The serious preparation of coach Manolo Marquez's team showed that they were determined to get a good result against the host Vietnam.
The Indian team brought to Vietnam consists entirely of players currently playing in domestic tournaments. The Indian squad is very young with many players born after 1999.

Entering the match with the determination to win to regain the trust of the fans, the Vietnam team tried to push the squad up from the first minutes. Coach Kim Sang-sik made many strange experiments in the National Team such as letting To Van Vu play right back, Chau Ngoc Quang combined with Le Pham Thanh Long in the middle of the field.
However, the Vietnamese team did not have effective coordination, especially in Thanh Long's position. The Hanoi Police players made many bad passes, causing the attacking lines to be cut off quite easily.

The only notable situation for the home team in the first half was when defender Rahul Shankar Bheke pushed Bui Vi Hao in the penalty area, the referee awarded the Vietnamese team a penalty. Que Ngoc Hai was assigned the responsibility of taking the 11m kick but failed to execute it.
After that, Hoang Duc, Chau Ngoc Quang and Van Toan missed many chances one after another. It was not until the 38th minute that the goal came. From a corner kick, the Indian defense was confused in clearing it, Vi Hao fired a powerful shot that hit the opponent's defender's foot, changed direction and rolled into the goal, the score was 1-0 for the "Golden Star Warriors".

It was thought that the goal would help the Vietnamese team play better, but coach Kim Sang-sik's team made a mistake. About 10 minutes into the second half, the opposing team made a fairly simple long pass to Farukh Haji Kasam Choudhary, allowing striker number 19 to eliminate Que Ngoc Hai and then delicately finish, defeating Nguyen Filip, scoring the equalizer 1-1.
In the last 15 minutes of the match, the Vietnamese team sent Quang Hai, Dinh Bac, Van Quyet and Tien Linh onto the field to find a goal. Notably, Van Quyet was the best player. Although he is 33 years old, each move of the Hanoi FC player still brought great changes. He alone created 3 opportunities, putting his teammates in a position facing the goal, but all were missed.

In the end, the Vietnam team accepted a 1-1 draw with the Indian team.
After this match, the Vietnamese players will return to their clubs to continue competing in the national championship. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will regroup in November to prepare for the AFF Cup 2024. It is expected that the Vietnamese team will have a training trip in Korea, thereby evaluating the force and preparing for the goal of winning the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship./.
