Pig price today October 16, 2024: Recorded a further decrease of 1,000 VND/kg in many localities. Currently, the pig price nationwide is fluctuating from 63,000 - 66,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the Northern region

The Northern region witnessed a slight decrease in live hog prices by VND1,000/kg on October 16, 2024, with prices ranging from VND64,000 to VND66,000/kg.

In Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh and Ha Nam provinces, the price of live pigs has decreased by VND1,000/kg.

Hanoi, Hai Duong and Hung Yen all have the highest prices in the region, at VND66,000/kg.

Other provinces in the North buy live pigs at 65,000 VND/kg, except Lao Cai, where the price is 64,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the Central Highlands region

In the Central and Central Highlands provinces, the price of live pigs today has decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, except for Dak Lak and Ninh Thuan.

The current purchase price of live pigs in the Central region ranges from 63,000 to 64,000 VND/kg.

The provinces with the highest purchasing price, 64,000 VND/kg, include Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan.

The price of live pigs on the market is trading between 63,000 and 64,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the Southern region

Pig prices in the South decreased today, ranging from 63,000 to 65,000 VND/kg.

Some provinces such as Tien Giang and Soc Trang have the lowest price, at 63,000 VND/kg.

The highest price in the region, 65,000 VND/kg, was recorded in Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh City.

Nationwide, live hog prices are falling slightly, with the average price down about VND1,000, ranging from VND63,000 to VND66,000 per kilogram.

The livestock industry in Vietnam has achieved many successes but is also facing challenges from climate change and limited resources.

According to Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien, converting the livestock industry to organic and environmentally friendly production is a necessary direction to develop sustainable agriculture and meet domestic and foreign market demand.

The Vietnamese Government approved Decision 1520/QD-TTg in October 2020, setting out the Livestock Development Strategy from 2021 to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

This strategy aims to promote sustainable development of the livestock industry, with priority given to enhancing international cooperation and applying scientific and technological advances.

Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien emphasized the importance of cooperation among stakeholders to maintain and improve the position of Vietnam's livestock industry in the international arena, while facing current opportunities and challenges.
