Vietnam women's team ready to go to China for friendly tournament
After nearly 2 weeks of training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the Vietnamese women's team has completed its preparations and is ready to leave for China to participate in a friendly tournament.
As planned,Vietnam women's teamwill leave for China on October 21.
Head coach Mai Duc Chung said: In this training session, the team did not have much preparation time, only 10 days to prepare for the competition. But that is a valuable thing, we get to compete with China, a team above us in the FIFA rankings. Uzbekistan is also on the same level as us. These are opponents we can compete with in the Asian region.

During the time stationed at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the coaching staff mainly focused on training the players' physical strength, alternating between practice matches to practice tactics as well as arranging the team for competitions. The team still has a lot to improve, especially in terms of physical strength. We are short in stature and weak in physical strength, so if we want to meet the requirements, we need to improve our physical strength to compete better.

Evaluating the young players called up to the national team, coach Mai Duc Chung commented: “Rejuvenating the team is a journey for all teams to have the next generation. If we do not have a good next generation, our performance will obviously not be good. Therefore, we have been doing this for a long time, not just now. But we constantly change, regularly creating opportunities for young players to come to the national team to practice and get acquainted, then we may send them back and invite others, not fix a few people. Of course, athletes who are playing well will be in the plan to join the national team. That is my training method".

As a veteran player with a lot of experience in the Vietnamese women's team, midfielder Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung said: Currently, the team's spirit is very comfortable and happy in every training session. Tuyet Dung herself and the whole team are very excited to participate in the upcoming tournament in China.

With many years of international competition experience, Tuyet Dung commented on her opponents: China is one of the strongest teams in Asia. The match with host China will help the whole team gain more experience.
