From a disabled girl to a famous ao dai designer
Having suffered from a physical disability since childhood, Vo Thi Hong Vinh has always nurtured the determination to overcome her circumstances to assert herself and contribute to society.
At the VMode fashion design training facility in Hung Loc commune, Vinh city (Nghe An), Ms. Vo Thi Hong Vinh (born in 1983) excitedly introduced ao dai designs and enthusiastically instructed the students.
She said: “Since I was a child, I have had physical disabilities and had difficulty moving around. I have always tried my best to learn sewing and fashion design. Thanks to my passion and determination, I have become a professional ao dai designer.”

Ms. Vo Thi Hong Vinh, from Nghi My commune (Nghi Loc), when she was 1 year old, suffered a severe fever that led to muscle atrophy and paralysis in her right leg, making it difficult for her to move. When she grew up, she wasorthopedic surgeryWhen moving around the house, I have to use my hand to support my right leg. If I want to go a little further, I have to use a cane.
Despite her physical disability, Vo Thi Hong Vinh is very studious and studies well. Every day, her parents and friends take turns taking her to class. Knowing her disadvantaged fate, she studies even harder in the hope of a bright future. After finishing high school, Hong Vinh was supported by the Provincial Women's Union to learn sewing.

Sewing is suitable for her health condition, so Ms. Vo Thi Hong Vinh always tries to learn to have solid skills. The training program has helped her acquire basic cutting and sewing techniques, she boldly borrowed capital to open a tailoring facility named Hong Vinh Tailor House to serve the needs of people in the area. Thanks to her skillful techniques, she has more and moreclienttrust, tailor shop more and more crowded

Not satisfied with the results achieved, Ms. Hong Vinh continued to "learn from teachers", meeting good designers to improve her skills. From there, she realized that she had a lot of passion for designing Vietnamese ao dai. "Ao dai is not only a beautiful outfit but also the national costume of Vietnam. With my passion for ao dai, I want to contribute my small part to preserving and promoting a beautiful national culture," Ms. Hong Vinh shared.
By chance, Ms. Hong Vinh accidentally learned about designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam (Hanoi) with his famous ao dai collection. She signed up for this designer's class and became an excellent student. After the course, she was supported in building her personal brand and start-up fund. This helped the disabled woman continue to assert herself and spread her love for ao dai to women.

Since then, Ms. Hong Vinh has designed impressive ao dai, which are favored by many customers. Notably, the ao dai collection “Happy Rose” was performed at the Tinh Hoa Gala.Vietnamese Ao Dai2022. Before that, she participated in the Nghe An province's innovative startup idea and entered the top 17 final projects out of 80 businesses across the province with the project "VMode designer ao dai store chain".
In 2023, she reached the top 5 out of 46 projects participating in the "Women's Entrepreneurship" contest with the project "Producing designer Ao Dai and teaching the profession - prioritizing people with disabilities" organized by the "Nghe An Provincial Women's Union with the project "Producing designer Ao Dai and teaching the profession - prioritizing people with disabilities".

“Currently, as the owner of the Vmode fashion design training facility, she has supported vocational training and created jobs to help disabled women earn extra income to support themselves, reducing the burden on their families and society. At the same time, she teaches design and tailoring of Ao Dai to women across the country online. Up to now, she has trained about 100 students, helping them gain solid skills to practice their profession.
