Pig price in the North

In the morning session of October 21, the northern pig market recorded a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg in Thai Binh and Nam Dinh.

Thus, the price of live pigs in this area has lost the 65,000 VND/kg mark. Currently, the whole region is trading at 64,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in Central Highlands region

In the Central Highlands region, live pig prices decreased in Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Khanh Hoa.

Of which, Binh Dinh and Khanh Hoa provinces are at 61,000 VND/kg, the same price as Dak Lak. This is also the lowest selling price in the country. The remaining provinces buy live pigs from 62,000 VND/kg - 64,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the Southern region

The price of live pigs in the Southern region has decreased in many localities, fluctuating between 62,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, the provinces of Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh and Ba Ria - Vung Tau all decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, to 64,000 VND/kg. Also recording this decrease, traders in Long An and Ho Chi Minh City purchased live pigs at 63,000 VND/kg.

In general, the price of live pigs continues to decrease nationwide. According to a survey, the price of live pigs nationwide is currently fluctuating between 61,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.

The price of live pigs and chickens in Ba Ria-Vung Tau is high, at 64,000-65,000 VND/kg and 85,000-95,000 VND/kg, respectively.

Farmers are making profits and are expanding their farming scale to serve the Lunar New Year market.

Preventive measures are being stepped up due to the risk of disease outbreaks in livestock and poultry.

The price of live pigs has increased by 10,000-12,000 VND/kg compared to last year, remaining stable, helping farmers make good profits.

The epidemic control situation in Ba Ria-Vung Tau is assessed as effective, with a total herd of 409,000 pigs and 6.87 million poultry.

Demand for pork and chicken consumption is increasing, promoting the need for herd restoration and production.

Unstable weather at the end of the year can increase disease outbreaks, while animal feed prices remain high, requiring farmers to be cautious when expanding their herds.
