Nghe An determined to complete new rural construction targets by 2024
On the afternoon of October 23, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development held an online conference to urge the completion of the goal of building new rural areas by 2024.
Chairing the Hanoi bridge was comrade Le Minh Hoan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
At Nghe An bridge, there were comrade Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and other units and branches.

According to the report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as of October 20, 2024, the whole country has 6,320/8,162 communes meeting NTM standards, 2,182 communes meeting advanced NTM standards; 480 model NTM communes.
There are 296 district-level units in 58 provinces and centrally-run cities that have been recognized by the Prime Minister as having completed the task of achieving NTM standards, of which 11 districts have been recognized as achieving advanced NTM standards. Regarding the One Commune One Product - OCOP Program, to date, the whole country has had 14,085 OCOP products achieving 3 stars or more.

Speaking at Nghe An bridge, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De reported on the progress of implementing the 2024 NTM targets in the province. By September 30, 2024, Nghe An had assessed and recognized 8 more advanced new rural communes, 1 model new rural commune; 1 Nam Dan district has been assessed by the Provincial Assessment Council, and is completing the dossier to submit to the Central Government for assessment of the district meeting the advanced NTM standards in 2024.
Accumulated to September 30, 2024, the whole province has 320/411 communes meeting NTM standards, accounting for 77.85% (reaching 98.46% compared to the plan assigned by the Central Government); 101 communes meeting advanced NTM standards, accounting for 31.56% (reaching 90.17% compared to the plan assigned by the Central Government); 16 communes meeting model NTM standards, accounting for 5% (reaching 88.9% compared to the plan assigned by the Central Government); 9 district-level units have completed their tasks/met NTM standards; The average criteria for the whole province is 17.2 criteria/commune; There are 609 products recognized as OCOP (achieving 3 stars or more) and there are 2 potential 5-star products that have completed their dossiers to submit to the Central Government for assessment and recognition...
Comrade Nguyen Van De said that it is expected that by the end of 2024, Nghe An province will complete and exceed the spending on new rural construction according to the plan assigned by the Central Government.

Concluding the conference, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan requested the People's Committees of provinces and cities to focus and resolutely direct the implementation of the New Rural Program at all levels, sectors and localities to complete the targets on New Rural Construction that the provinces and cities have registered to achieve in 2024 with the Central Government.
Continue to focus on and pay attention to the maintenance and repair of economic and social infrastructure works; work to sustainably maintain results and improve the quality of new rural criteria after reaching the standards, determined not to let the situation of districts without new rural communes exist.

Localities are requested to urgently complete the detailed approval of projects, proposals, and plans for implementing pilot models under specialized programs before November 30, 2024.
Strengthen inspection, examination, supervision and evaluation of the implementation of the Program at all levels and sectors, especially the work of inspection, supervision and urging the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the quality of criteria and indicators for communes and districts after being recognized as meeting the standards of NTM, advanced NTM and model NTM. Take preventive measures, promptly stop negative manifestations, waste, and strictly handle violations during the implementation of the Program.
