Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoang Hiep said this is the first storm to hit the Central region in 2024, forecast to cause heavy rain, with the possibility of flooding similar to 2020.
According to the assessment, this storm has very strong winds at sea, when it reaches the mainland it may weaken but will have a long time to linger. Therefore, coastal provinces need to pay attention to the issue of coastal erosion. Localities need to inform the people as quickly, accurately and as much as possible about the situation and direction of the storm.

Localities need to have plans to call on boats to safely shelter from storms, and can issue longer sea bans to ensure absolute safety for fishermen and boats. Aquaculture areas should calculate to harvest, reduce damage; at the same time, harvest rice with the motto "green house is better than old field". Along with that, cross-tie houses, raise assets... proactively check areas at risk of landslides and have appropriate evacuation plans to ensure safety.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade directs the safe operation of hydroelectric reservoirs. The Ministry of Transport calculates to avoid traffic disruption in provinces and cities directly affected by the storm.

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan emphasized: Looking back at the damage caused by storm No. 3, departments and localities must not be subjective or negligent in any aspect but must proactively have prevention and response plans with the highest determination, and develop specific scenarios for each situation so as not to be surprised or passive.
Local authorities and people closely monitor storm warnings and forecasts to proactively prevent and minimize damage. Strengthen inspection and review of residential areas along rivers, streams, dykes, dams, low-lying areas, areas at high risk of flooding, flash floods, landslides to proactively organize the relocation and evacuation of people when situations occur... Be ready to deploy measures to drain water, protect production; prevent flooding in urban areas, low-lying areas to ensure minimal damage.
