Promote union membership development and establishment of grassroots unions in non-state enterprises.
In the first 9 months of 2024, Nghe An Trade Union achieved and exceeded many targets in developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions.
On the afternoon of October 25, the Provincial Federation of Labor held the 6th Extended Executive Committee Conference, term 2023-2028.
Comrade Kha Van Tam - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation chaired the conference.
The conference deployed the Plan to implement Resolution No. 06/NQ-BCH dated August 27, 2024 of the General Executive Committee.Labor FederationVietnam on promoting the development of union members and establishing grassroots unions in non-state enterprises by 2028, with a vision to 2033.
The plan sets a target of establishing grassroots trade unions in 100% of enterprises with 25 or more employees by the end of 2028, and developing 40,000 more union members in non-state enterprises, including 5 new grassroots trade unions and an increase of 1,000 union members in the informal sector. In the period of 2029 - 2033, establishing grassroots trade unions in 100% of enterprises with 20 or more employees, and developing 45,000 more union members in non-state enterprises, including 7 new grassroots trade unions and an increase of 1,500 union members in the informal sector.
The conference also reviewed the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in the first 9 months of 2024. Accordingly, in the first 9 months of the year, the whole province admitted 19,838 union members, reaching 100.62% of the target assigned by the General Confederation of Labor in 2024. Newly established 73/40 grassroots unions, reaching 182.5% of the 2024 target of the Provincial Federation of Labor. Establishing grassroots unions with more than 25 union members was 40/20, reaching 200% of the 2024 target of the Provincial Federation of Labor. Established in the informal sector were 2 grassroots unions at the Dien Chau District Labor Federation and Hoang Mai town with 194 union members.
Units with a high cumulative number of union members compared to the beginning of the period are the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union, the Labor Federation of Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Thanh Chuong, and Con Cuong districts. Many units have exceeded the 2024 target in terms of union member development.
Frankly acknowledging the advantages, disadvantages, advantages, and difficulties, the conference agreed on the direction and tasks for developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in the coming time. The goal for the last 3 months of 2024 is to develop 1 grassroots union and 406 union members in the informal sector, and establish grassroots unions in 100% of enterprises with more than 25 employees participating in social insurance.
Attending the conference, delegates also had responsible and enthusiastic discussions about experiences, solutions and recommendations to implement the contents deployed at the conference.
Concluding the conference, comrade Kha Van Tam highly appreciated the urgent and responsible working spirit of the conference, affirming the importance of the plan to promoteMembership development, establish grassroots trade unions in non-state enterprises by 2028, with a vision to 2033. From there, it is recommended that units seriously develop implementation plans at the unit.
Acknowledging the results of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in the first 9 months of the year, the head of Nghe An Trade Union requested that in the remaining months, units need to continue to deeply and fully understand the task of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions. From there, seriously review and grasp the labor situation in the area, persistently mobilize, proactively advise the Party Committee to establish a steering committee for developing union members, coordinate with other departments, branches and organizations. At the same time, enhance union activities at grassroots unions, join hands to participate in the labor supply chain for enterprises...
In addition, review the targets, plans, and projects of the year, prepare well for the year-end summary program. Think and research gradually for the orientation and plan for 2025 and build a plan to take care of Tet for union members and workers.
