Ngoc Lan said: “In recent years, my role has been in middle age, so I want to build the image of a woman who is materially well-off, which must be reflected in her full appearance. Partly because of illness, partly because I want to make the role more attractive, so I keep my weight that way. When I no longer act in films, I am more comfortable in choosing a body shape that suits me.”
During the period of gaining weight for the role, Ngoc Lan admitted that she faced a lot of gossip from netizens. However, she believes that for the audience who love her, as long as she explains herself, everyone will understand and respect her decision. The mother of one believes that "being fat or thin does not determine whether you are beautiful or not, but at that stage, if I feel that my health is suitable for that weight, I will follow it."

Although compared to others, I am not as good as anyone else, what is important is myself”, she shared.
Ngoc Lan said that in the past, she thought that she had to put her acting career on hold for her son. However, now, the actress realizes that this decision was for herself. She explained: “I want to be close to and accompany my son. Those are my wishes, not for my son, so I think he will not be pressured by this.”
According to Ngoc Lan, when she announced her temporary hiatus from acting, many colleagues were surprised, thinking that she would miss the set in just a few days and return to her career. However, the actress felt that if she participated in film projects, she would not have time for her children.
