At the time of his arrest and during questioning, Nguyen Van Ba gave false statements in an attempt to evade responsibility and also showed signs of wanting to commit suicide.
However, faced with compelling evidence, the suspect had to confess to his crime. According to his confession, the drugs belonged to a Vietnamese national living in Europe who sent them to Nguyen Van Ba for distribution. It was also revealed that Nguyen Van Ba had a previous conviction for "violating regulations concerning wildlife."
The case is under further investigation to be handled according to the law.
