Does drinking sugarcane juice with lemon cure cancer?
Recently, there have been many rumors circulating that drinking sugarcane juice with lemon can cure cancer. Regarding this issue, VnExpress newspaper quoted Dr. Ha Hai Nam, Deputy Head of the Department of Abdominal Surgery 1 at K Hospital, as saying that this is a baseless and superstitious practice. There is no evidence or scientific research to support the claim that simply drinking juice can cure cancer, or even benign tumors.
For patients with bone marrow cancer, doctors use a combination of treatments such as immunotherapy, bone marrow transplantation, targeted therapy, etc. Drinking sugarcane juice with lemon cannot eliminate tumors or replace blood to cure the disease. Doctors have also never encountered anyone cured of cancer simply by drinking this juice.
Drinking more than a liter of sugarcane juice a day increases the risk of obesity and other health problems. Furthermore, street-vendor sugarcane juice carries the risk of bacterial contamination, from the hygiene of the sugarcane stalks, juicing machines, and cups, affecting the digestive system and even causing food poisoning.
