The ancient beauty of the hundreds of years old Vong Pagoda

Having existed for a long time, Vinh Phuc Pagoda (also known as Vong Pagoda, Ong Pagoda) in Hung Thanh Commune (Hung Nguyen) still preserves many unique ancient statues and ancient stone steles.
According to local people, Vong Pagoda was built in ancient times. Over time, due to deterioration, in 2010, the pagoda was restored and renovated. However, the pagoda's worship, practice and living facilities are still quite modest. Photo: Huy ThuThe most unique among the ancient statues still preserved at Vong Pagoda is the wooden statue of the Buddha Mother Chuẩn Đề, with many arms, carved in a meditative posture on a lotus throne, solemnly worshiped in the middle of the shrine. Photo: Huy ThuThe statue has a plump, benevolent face, a hat on its head, and 18 arms, including 2 hands clasped in front of its chest, 2 hands crossed on its thighs, and 14 arms spread out to the sides. Photo: Huy ThuIn addition, the pagoda also preserves many other ancient statues, such as the statue of Buddha Shakyamuni, the statue of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, the statue of Buddha's birth... with many different sizes and different hairstyles. Many ancient statues still have their original paint. It is known that during its existence, due to the pagoda's degradation and floods, many ancient statues were lost or damaged. Photo: Huy ThuThe pagoda still preserves a large ancient stone stele, but all the letters have faded. According to the elderly in the area, there used to be two ancient stele in the pagoda grounds, one of which was placed on the bank of the pond bridge and later buried under the martyrs' monument next to the pagoda.
