The ancient beauty of Vong Pagoda, hundreds of years old.

With its long history, Vinh Phuc Pagoda (also known as Vong Pagoda or Ong Pagoda) in Hung Thanh commune (Hung Nguyen district) still preserves many unique ancient statues and stone steles.
According to local people, Vong Pagoda was built a long time ago. Over time, due to deterioration, the pagoda was restored and renovated in 2010. However, the facilities for worship, meditation, and daily life at the pagoda are still quite modest. Photo: Huy ThuThe most remarkable of the ancient statues preserved at Vong Pagoda is the multi-armed wooden statue of the Bodhisattva Cundi, carved in a meditative posture on a lotus throne, which is respectfully worshipped in the main hall. Photo: Huy ThuThe statue has a full, benevolent face, wears a hat, and has 18 arms: 2 clasped in front of the chest, 2 crossed on the thighs, and 14 arms extended to the sides. According to Venerable Thich Nguyen Tam, abbot of Vong Pagoda, this ancient statue has been repainted. Photo: Huy ThuIn addition, the temple also preserves many other ancient statues, such as statues of Shakyamuni Buddha, Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, and the Buddha's birth statue... in various sizes and hairstyles. Many of these ancient statues still retain their original lacquer. It is known that during its existence, due to the temple's deterioration and flooding, many ancient statues were lost or damaged. Photo: Huy ThuThe temple still preserves a large, ancient stone stele, but the inscriptions have faded. According to local elders, there used to be two ancient steles in the temple grounds; one was once placed on the edge of the pond but was later buried under the war memorial next to the temple. Many types of parasitic plants cling densely to the tree trunk from base to top.
