Comrade Le Duy Diem (1906 - 1930): Enthusiastic spirit in revolutionary activities

Le Duy Diem was born in 1906 in Xuan Vien village, Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province. He was born into a patriotic and revolutionary family. The Le family in Xuan Vien village originated in Thanh Hoa province, moved to Nghi Loc district, then moved to Nghi Xuan, and by the time of Le Duy Diem's ​​grandfather, he moved to Xuan Vien village.

Le Duy Diem was the eldest son of Mr. Le Duy Hy. He was an intelligent young man who studied at the National School in Hue and then joined the revolution. In August 1925, Le Duy Diem joined the Phuc Viet Association in Vinh. At the end of that year, he went to Siam to meet Dang Thuc Hua.

In early 1926, Le Duy Diem went to Guangzhou (China), where he attended the first political training course taught by Nguyen Ai Quoc; at the same time, he was admitted to the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association. After that, he returned to Vietnam to take on the task of guiding delegations to Guangzhou to attend political training classes.

On July 14, 1926, Le Duy Diem led a delegation of 9 cadres to Guangzhou, including comrades Tran Phu, Ton Quang Phiet, Phan Trong Binh... In September 1926, he led a second delegation with comrades Tran Van Cung, Vo Mai...

In 1927, he returned to the country to carry out the task of merging the two organizations Thanh Nien and Tan Viet, but failed. From 1927-1929, Le Duy Diem also held the following positions: Member of the General Committee of Thanh Nien, political lecturer, and newspaper writer.Thanh Nien Newspaper, attended the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association Congress in Hong Kong in May 1929. In August 1929, he participated in founding the Annam Communist Party cell.

In October 1929, Le Duy Diem was sentenced to death in absentia at the Nam Trieu Court of Nghe An province.

At the end of 1929, he was assigned to Siam to meet with comrade Nguyen Ai Quoc to report on the situation and ask for solutions to unify communist organizations in Vietnam. In early 1930, Le Duy Diem fell seriously ill and died in Siam.
