Successfully dismantled a transnational illegal fireworks trafficking case

Quynh Luu District Police have just successfully cracked down on a transnational firecracker trafficking case, arresting two suspects and seizing 280 kg of various types of firecrackers.

Through the work of grasping the situation, around the beginning of October 2024, Quynh Luu District Police discovered a trafficking ring,transport of prohibited goods(fireworks) from abroad through the transit border gate to Binh Phuoc province, then transported to other areas for consumption. Faced with that situation, Quynh Luu district police established a special project to combat and eradicate.

During the investigation, the Task Force encountered many difficulties because the subjects frequently changed their movements and disguised the "prohibited goods" in many sophisticated ways and tricks to deceive the authorities.

After a period of monitoring, determining that the opportunity had come, on November 4, the Task Force successfully dismantled the case, arresting two subjects including Dong Manh Hoa (born in 1972, residing in Son Hai commune) and Nguyen Xuan Menh (born in 1980, residing in An Hoa commune) both in Quynh Luu district, Nghe An. The seized evidence included 280kg of various types of firecrackers, 01 motorbike, 01 trailer and 02 mobile phones.

At the Investigation Agency, the subjects initially confessed that they had disguised the above firecrackers in sealed wooden crates and transported them via passenger buses. After receiving the firecrackers, they would disperse, hide and sell them in various areas. Currently, Quynh Luu District Police are continuing to investigate and expand the case.
