Bank employee arrested for defrauding and misappropriating 4 billion VND.

The Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police has served the decision to initiate criminal proceedings, indict the suspect, and detain Nguyen Tai (27 years old, residing in Thanh Khe Tay ward, Thanh Khe district, Da Nang City) for the act of "Fraudulent appropriation of property"

Initial investigations revealed that Tài was an employee of AB Bank (Da Nang Branch) and Mr. Trần Văn P. (61 years old, residing in Hai Chau District, Da Nang) had previously collaborated on numerous bank loan refinancing transactions, thus becoming acquainted with him.

However, because Nguyen Tai had previously borrowed money from many people and was unable to repay it when the deadline arrived, he conceived the idea of ​​defrauding Mr. Tran Van P.

On March 27, 2024, Tài lied to Mr. Trần Văn P., claiming he needed to borrow 4 billion VND to repay bank loans for his parents and relatives.

To gain trust, Tài sent Mr. P. images of two land use right certificates: one belonging to his biological parents and the other to someone else that was mortgaged at AB Bank.

Having worked with him many times before, Mr. P. trusted him and repeatedly transferred approximately 4 billion VND into the bank account of Tài's father, Mr. Nguyễn V., opened at AB Bank.

After receiving the money, Tài used it all to pay off his debts to those he had borrowed from previously.

Having used up all his money to pay off debts, Tài was unable to find the funds to repay Mr. P. when the payment deadline arrived. As a result, Mr. P. discovered the situation and reported it to the police.

Based on the collected documents and evidence, the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police has initiated a criminal case, charged the suspect, and detained Nguyen Tai for further investigation and processing in accordance with the law.
