President Putin: 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers surrounded in the direction of Kupiansk
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on November 7 that about 10,000 soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were blocked at one of the points in the direction of Kupiansk.

The head of the Russian Kharkov regional administration, Vitaly Ganchev, said on November 7 that the Russian Armed Forces were several kilometers from Kupiansk, and that the Russian troops were advancing deeper into the territory, seizing the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Mr. Putin later noted that two centers in the direction of Kupiansk were surrounded.
“In the encirclement, the Ukrainian army was forced into one point – about 10 thousand people, this group was blocked,” Mr. Putin said at a meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club. Mr. Putin added that about 5 thousand more people were blocked in a second point near Kupiansk.
Also at the discussion, President Putin said that the situation in East Asia has not become calmer or more stable. “Indeed, the situation in East Asia has not become calmer or more stable,” the Russian head of state said at a meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club.
“As for the situation in East Asia in general. Is China creating blocs there? It is the United States that is creating blocs. One bloc, two blocs, three blocs, now NATO is officially involved. Nothing good happens when closed political-military blocs are created under the clear direction of one leading country. Usually, all other countries act in the interests of the country that created these blocs,” Putin stressed.
