Nguyen Thi Huyen was born in 1985 in Hai Phong in a family of civil servants. The 19-year-old beauty was crowned Miss Vietnam in 2004.

The year she was crowned, Nguyen Thi Huyen was a student at the Academy of Journalism and Communication. At the end of 2004, she represented Vietnam at the Miss World pageant in China.

Possessing a plump face, Asian beauty, a standard body (84-60-92 cm) and a height of 1.72 m, Nguyen Thi Huyen was chosen by the Miss World jury to be in the Top 15 (tied for 10th place with Miss China).

In 2007, Nguyen Thi Huyen studied journalism at Middlesex University (UK). After 2 years, she graduated with honors and returned to Vietnam. In 2012, Nguyen Thi Huyen continued her postgraduate studies at the Academy of Journalism and Communication.
