Russia continues testing Oreshnik-like missiles.
President Putin stated that Russia continues to test missiles similar to the Oreshnik.

According to RIA Novosti, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting at the Kremlin on November 22nd with the head of the Ministry of Defense. Assessing the importance of the new Oreshnik missile to Russia, President Putin stated that the achievements and the speed of development of this weapon evoke pride and admiration. Tests of this system demonstrate the domestic missile science sector's ability to solve problems aimed at ensuring Russia's sovereignty.
"Developments like the Oreshnik missile are of vital importance to the country," President Putin asserted.
According to Putin, the Oreshnik missile is not a modernization of old Soviet systems; it is the result of the work of current specialists.
In the near future, Oreshnik will be put into service in the missile forces. The decision to mass-produce this weapon has been made and is being put into practice.
President Putin stated that the widespread use of the new missiles against enemy targets would be comparable to strategic weapons. However, the Oreshnik is not considered a weapon of mass destruction.
"In fact, the Oreshnik system is not a strategic weapon; in any case, it is not an intercontinental ballistic missile; it is not a weapon of mass destruction, also because it is a highly accurate weapon," President Putin said.
Reiterating the outstanding capabilities of the Oreshnik, President Putin asserted that no weapon can defeat it. Therefore, testing of the Oreshnik will continue. Russia currently has several missile systems similar to the Oreshnik.
"As we know, no country in the world currently possesses such weapons. But sooner or later, they will appear in other leading nations. That's a story for tomorrow, in a year, or in two years. For now, we have this system, and that's very important," President Putin emphasized.
Announcing details of the first combat use of the Oreshnik ballistic missile, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated: “On November 21, 2024, the armed forces conducted a combined attack on one of the targets of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex in Dnepropetrovsk. For the first time in combat conditions, a medium-range ballistic missile carrying a nuclear warhead was successfully used. The hypersonic capabilities of the Oreshnik were utilized in the attack.”
