Closing Ceremony of the 17th Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Championship

During three days of exciting, fierce and enthusiastic competition (December 1-3), nearly 200 athletes participating in the 17th Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Championship - competing for the 2024 Golden Star Cup, contributed many good and beautiful matches, leaving a good impression on the audience and creating a great success for the tournament.

On the afternoon of December 3, at Cau Giay Stadium - Hanoi, the closing ceremony and awarding ceremony of the 17th Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Championship - competing for the 2024 Golden Star Cup took place.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Head of the tournament's steering committee, said: Through the exciting matches of 14 competitions, the athletes not only demonstrated their talent and dexterity but also showed their noble sportsmanship, team spirit, colleagues and strong determination.

The success of this year's tournament is not only about the awards, but also the connection between press agencies, an opportunity for us to share beautiful moments in sports life, as well as affirm the important role of sports in improving the health and spirit of journalists. Hopefully, each of us will bring this competitive spirit to our daily work, continue to strive, overcome difficulties to contribute to the development of Vietnamese journalism."

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded First, Second and Third prizes to athletes competing in 14 events: Men's team: No age distinction; Women's team: No age distinction; Men's singles from 45 years old and above; Men's singles under 45 years old; Women's singles from 45 years old and above; Women's singles under 45 years old; Men's singles leaders and Women's singles leaders: No age distinction, for athletes who are leaders, former leaders of press agencies, press managers, Journalists Association levels, departments, bureaus and equivalent levels of press agencies, press management agencies; Men's doubles: No age distinction; Women's doubles: No age distinction; Mixed doubles: From 45 years old and above; Mixed doubles: Under 45 years old; Men's doubles with leaders and Women's doubles with leaders: No age distinction, in 2 competing athletes, 1 athlete is a leader.

In which, the First Prize for the men's team went to the People's Police Newspaper and the First Prize for the women's team was awarded to the Hanoi City Journalists Association and the Vietnam News Agency Journalists Association.
