Director Ly Hai announced that the film "Lat Mat 8" (Face Off 8) brings together nearly 100 main and supporting actors, including veteran names such as Meritorious Artist Huu Chau, Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu, Meritorious Artist Kim Phuong, and familiar faces like Quach Ngoc Tuyen, Ta Lam, Minh Khue...
Notably, the film will also feature new faces making their acting debut, including Le Tuan Khang - a content creator who has been making waves recently. He has over 10 million followers on his personal page.
Previously, when the "Face Off 8" team announced the casting, Le Tuan Khang participated. On the afternoon of December 4th, Ly Hai announced that Le Tuan Khang had been cast in the film.
Sharing the reason for choosing Le Tuan Khang for his project, Ly Hai admitted: "Before that, I didn't know who Le Tuan Khang was. When he came to the casting, I saw that he was suitable for the role, so I extended an invitation. As for information about the role, I would like to keep it confidential. With Le Tuan Khang's abilities, he will play this role well."
The director asserted that he has never chosen famous actors for his films. Ly Hai's criterion is to select people who are suitable for the roles he desires.
Ly Hai added that he chose Le Tuan Khang to star in the film because of his suitability for the role, not because of his fame or popularity on social media.
Filming began on December 9, 2024, and the movie is scheduled to be released in theaters during the April 30 - May 1 holiday in 2025.
Le Tuan Khang was born in 2002 in Soc Trang province. On his personal channel, he mainly creates videos sharing the simple, peaceful life in the countryside with a humorous style.
Recently, Le Tuan Khang became a sensation on social media when his personal channel gained over 6 million followers due to the incident where he mistakenly called out the name of content creator Khiet Dan while presenting an award.
