Pepper prices today, December 9, 2024, in the domestic market increased from 700 to 2,000 VND/kg compared to last week, fluctuating between 146,000 and 147,200 VND/kg. Meanwhile, world pepper prices fluctuated in opposite directions.

Pepper prices today in some key growing areas increased again compared to the beginning of last week. Thereby, the average domestic pepper price is at 146,500 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region, pepper prices today in Dak Lak remained unchanged compared to the beginning of last week, reaching 147,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Gia Lai increased by 1,500 VND/kg compared to the beginning of last week, currently at 146,500 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Dak Nong increased by 700 VND/kg compared to the beginning of last week at 147,200 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, pepper prices today in Ba Ria - Vung Tau are currently at 146,000 VND/kg, up 2,000 VND/kg compared to the beginning of last week. Dong Nai also increased 2,000 VND/kg compared to the beginning of last week at 146,000 VND/kg.

In addition, pepper price today in Binh Phuoc increased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to the beginning of last week, currently at 146,000 VND/kg.

According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), in November, Vietnam imported 4,381 tons of pepper of all kinds, including 3,522 tons of black pepper and 859 tons of white pepper. The total import turnover reached 24.0 million USD, down 9.1% compared to October.

The three largest importers in the month were Olam Vietnam (1,873 tons), Harris Spice (678 tons) and Tran Chau (357 tons). Notably, Olam Vietnam's imports increased sharply, up to 85.1%.

Indonesia continues to be the largest pepper supplier to Vietnam, accounting for 87.6% of total imports, with 3,836 tons in November.

From the beginning of the year to the end of November, Vietnam imported a total of 32,977 tons of pepper of all kinds, of which black pepper reached 28,978 tons and white pepper reached 3,999 tons. The total import turnover reached 155.3 million USD, up 34.7% in volume and 92.6% in value compared to the same period last year.

World pepper price today

Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 6,703 USD/ton (up 1.1% compared to last week), and the price of Muntok white pepper at 9,148 USD/ton (up 0.1% compared to last week).

Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper price was at USD 6,275/ton (up 2% from last week). Malaysian ASTA black pepper price was at USD 8,200/ton (down 2.4% from last week); ASTA white pepper price of this country reached USD 10,400/ton (down 1% from last week).

Today, Vietnam's black pepper price is trading at 6,200 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 6,500 USD/ton; white pepper price at 9,300 USD/ton (down 1.1% compared to last week).
